Its a great, but confusing story, and you cant go wrong with a game where an added mechanic is not only that you can pet various good boys and girls, but a requirement to 100% the game. Well Played, Bitmap Galaxy. goes on sale frequently so please buy this game. especially if you enjoy time travel games that really dont care if science says if its right or not.
This game has nice visual and also the soundtrack is good, but recently I totally got lost and it is impossible to find a way in this game. The sountrack gets really annoying after it repeats itself all the time. Especially when you are totally mad finding the way. The so called map is totally wrong, it is just a picture and you basically have no clue where to go to meet the goal. Overall not great not terrible. 5/10 I would not recommed this game.
好玩的,还有看到了很多小彩蛋,time和机械师啥的
I guess platform games just aren't for me. I want to like the game but the game clearly disagrees with me
This game is ok but not great. I'm on the borderline of a thumbs up or down, but the complaints feel significant and there's no shortage of Metroidvanias that do better. Pros: * Generally does all the Metroidvania stuff competently. Controls are ok, and while the powers aren't super unique they at least have their own spin on it. * Generally good platforming challenges. * The optional challenge rooms are clearly labeled as such. * It uses the dual-worlds gimmick well. * Not much backtracking (so far). Generally always clear where you should go next. Neutral: * Pacing is a bit slow, but that's because it's going for a more cinematic feel. * The story's nothing special, but they did put some effort into the setting and included a bunch of lore bits. Cons: * Combat... is weird? Your attacks don't kill most enemies, they just force dark spirits out of possessed enemies. The freed animals are just as aggressive and don't even change their attack pattern, and the freed spirit is itself sometimes quite dangerous (mostly because your first attack is awkward to hit them with). So there's not much point to attacking. And in the Past (aka half the game) the enemies aren't even possessed. Enemy design isn't very great anyways. * In some places it has a bit of a problem with things that can hurt you looking similar to the scenery. Also, the dark barriers that block your path in many places are only partly destroyed when you attack them once; they leave a little bit at the top and bottom which still hurts unless you attack them again. It's hard to see, unintuitive, and even when you remember it just slows things down. * As far as I can tell, there's no proper map. The "map pieces" just give you lore dumps. No map in a Metroidvania is a big problem, and kills any desire for completionism. At many times I had vague if any idea where I was relative to places I'd been before, though it was still clear where to go to advance. In any case it's very linear and your path only occasionally loops back on itself.
many bugs and not very easy to play - sometimes you miss platforms not because of lack of skill or ability, but because they're poorly placed hope developers release an update or a patch
Very much an unsung classic in the action-adventure-puzzle-platformer category. I don't know anything about the history of this game's development but it feels like a game that was rushed out the door and then, after the first round of basic bug fixes, left to its own devices. Which is a shame because it's honestly great, even genius at times. To appreciate it you have to be able to tolerate some jankiness though. For example the game has a pretty neat physics system BUT in some spots those physics feel slightly broken. Then there's annoying things like unnecessarily slow swimming speed, three-quarters of dialogue being unskippable, sporadic glitches, etc., that make it feel like a game not fully actualized. But for all its flaws, it's completely playable, fun, and interesting. Level design is creative and fully utilizes the abilities you gain throughout. In general there's a good sense of direction and flow to the level designs, though it's possible to get lost while exploring Temples. I loved throwing bombs to solve environmental puzzles and later using them to fight giant bosses. As this is an action-adventure, everything takes place in a continuous world. Your map always marks the next destination point but since the map is more of a bird's eye view illustration of the world and how its areas fit together, you also have to pay attention to signage in the world that helps you orient your position. I appreciate that when you explore and travel around, the creatures that populate the environment aren't just there to be eviscerated for resources and XP. In fact, you can't hurt them, you can only cleanse any corrupted spirits that may possess them. In some instances these creatures are even participants in cute little traversal puzzles. Adding to charm are some nice musical themes that I didn't get sick of hearing. In terms of difficulty, it's not exactly a walk in the park but there are generous checkpoints; I think if the mechanics were tighter (i.e. if the game had had more time to cook) the difficulty could be ramped up more, but for what it is I'll say it strikes a good balance between challenge and quality of life. One final criticism I have is the fact that late game backtracking for 100% completion can be a real drag, due to the lack of conveniences such as fast travel between islands. Whenever I play this game I try to collect everything as I go, instead of planning to come back later. It feels like the game was designed to flow in a certain direction but when you try to go extensively in the reverse, you can get easily lost and turned around or dead ended. Maybe I'm the idiot but I think it's more likely another symptom of rushed development. Still, I see the vision...the glimmer of the masterpiece that could've been. I'd recommend it to anyone looking a compact adventure (about 10 hours) with a moody atmosphere, plenty of robust platforming and some excellent boss fights.
