Xenia

A basic action platformer with nothing that would have me recommend it to people. It isn't unplayable, but unless you are getting it cheap, there is little reason to even look at it. It most certainly isn't a Metroidvania style game, which is the only reason I spent my own money.

This is a very good indie Metroidvania game. I really enjoyed it. It has real details from history of ancient Greece mixed with fantasy elements. Xenia has fast gameplay and epic boss fights! Hand crafted graphics give nostalgia while it is also very challenging. I would say it the "Dark Souls of Metroidvania". The only down is the 4 items in the shop. Generally a good indie game.

[h1] Genre [/h1] Ein 2D Action Side Scroller/Platformer [h1] Story [/h1] Nachdem die Königin "Xenia" ihre gesamte Armee zur Unterstützung in den Krieg geschickt hat, nutzte ein Böser Zauberer namens "Skotos" das aus und entführte die Königin um mit ihrem Blut, Allmächtig zu werden. Wir spielen den Schmied "Ardas" und müssen die Königin aus den Händen des Zauberers befreien [h1] Gameplay [/h1] Es gibt 12 Level voller verschiedener Feinde (Schlangen, Käfer, Skelette usw.) und tödlichen Fallen (Lava, herunterfallende Stacheln usw.). nach jedem zweiten Level gibt es einen Boss Kampf (7 Boss Kämpfe insgesamt). Jedesmal wenn man Gegner tötet oder Schatztruhen öffnet bekommt man Gold mit dem man zwischen den Leveln (auf der World Map) verschiedene Dinge im Shop kaufen kann z.B. Kurzzeitige Unverwundbarkeit oder zusätzliche Herzen (bis zu 10, man startet mit 5) [h1] Achievements [/h1] Es gibt insgesamt 10 Erfolge. Man muss das Spiel einfach durchspielen und alle Bosse vernichten. 2 Achievements scheinen nicht zu funktionieren (das Spiel sowohl auf Hard als auch auf Hardcore zu beenden) [h1] Pro/Contra [/h1] + Story OK + Musik ganz Gut + Grafik OK + Nette Boss Kämpfe + Achievements + XBox 360 Controller Support - 2 Achievements funktionieren nicht (hab das Spiel mehrmals auf Hard und auch auf Hardcore durchgespielt aber die Erfolge bekommt man einfach nicht) [h1] Fazit [/h1] Ein Schöner Action Side Scroller/Platformer mit Netten Boss Kämpfen. Αρκετά καλό game με πολλά επίπεδα διαφορετικού style το καθένα, ικανοποιητικό story line εμπνευσμένο από την Ελληνική ιστορία και μυθολογία. Δύσκολο επίπεδο δυσκολίας, με αρκετά παρακλάδια και επιλογές σε κάθε επίπεδο. Είναι value for money και πολύ καλό για Ελληνική προσπάθεια, άξιο για λιώσιμο, εγκρίνω.

Remember the time when you had to beat a game in one go? If you're looking for this kind of experience, Xenia might be a good choice. The game is not really a Metroidvania in my book, but borrows a few mechanics of the genre. You beat one stage after another until you reach the final boss. Inbeween the stages you can upgrade your life bar or your skills in the shop. You can revisit formerly passed stages and grind for gold. All stages are fairly linear, having many breakable walls where traps and treasures await you. Bosses can be skipped if you take a "dangerous" route, but honestly, the boss fights are fairly easy once you get the orb (which you should get first from the shop). Playing the Normal mode, gives you checkpoints and lets you continue anytime after you quit the game, but this mode is way to easy. The true appeal this game has are the hard and the hardcore modes, where you have to beat the game in one sitting, without any checkpoints. The difficulty is pretty much the same as Normal, but Hardcore is over once you die, and Hard will let you restart the stage. Each run should take about an hour or less, depending on how skilled you are or how fast you go. I kind of like this game for the hard modes. Unfortunately these achievements never triggered for me, nevertheless I can recommend this one to everyone looking for a late 80's/early 90's like platformer.

Solid metroidvania title from a solo greek developer!Hand drawn,good variety of enemies and for its price it offers a good amiunt of time!Good diffulty,variety of enemies,jumping,secrets and bosses with not so normal patters to predict.Help a solo developer succeed!

Das Spiel ist wunderbar ! Das erinnert mich an die alten ! Ich schlage es allen vor.

At first it looks very hard but, if you manage your gold and the first thing you buy is the orb, it makes your life much easier!! Overall, pretty cool game for 5 bucks!

Μετά από μία κουραστική εβδομάδα στη δουλειά είπα να ψάξω για κάτι διασκεδαστικό και μακριά από την αγχωτική καθημερινότητα...το Xenia με γύρισε πολλά χρόνια πριν...θυμίζει γνωστά παιχνίδια της πιτσιρικαρίας που ήσουν ''μάγκας'' αν τα είχες στο SNES....δυσκολάκι λίγο στην αρχή να πάρω το κολλάι μετά από τόσα χρόνια...τα χέρια είχαν ξεχάσει...έριξα τόσο γέλιο με την παρέα μου με τις αποτυχίες μέχρι να βρω τα κουμπιά....έκανα καινούριο συκώτι!!! Κατά τη γνώμη μου το 5ευρο το αξίζει!
