Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2/day in the week to Aug 14 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Is it as good as the two mainline Firaxis XCOM games? No. It is a much more approachable game than those though, and on higher difficulty settings it can still be quite challenging. There is no permadeath for squad members-you have to stabilize them or finish the mission before they die. If they die you have to restart. What I enjoy best about this that it shows what life on Earth is like after vanquishing the Elder invasion. There are goofy commercials that have to account for alien life (Nearly everyone can enjoy BIG CRUNCH!" There is inter-squad dialogue that reflects what happened during the war. City 31 does feel like a city that has to balance out the interests of humans and alien life. In terms of the turn based combat itself, the highlight is that you get to control several alien squad members to try out some of the alien abilities from the other games. All squad members have a unique kit with a couple fun abilities. The breach system dividing each encounter gets a little old-it would be nice to have some longer form missions where you can move through a more substantial level. Most missions end up being break into a room, kill everyone in the room, then move on to the next room. Once in a while you have a hostage rescue or an objective to control, but they're not all that much more exciting. There is some variety provided with some random modifiers that change how the factions you fight against work throughout the campaign. This can add different types of enemies to fights, change the weapons they have, or make certain enemies more powerful. The technical bugs with the product weren't game breaking for me, but they were annoying. I had a crash to desktop in the prologue mission once, this is not a game I would recommend playing on the Ironman mode. The most consistent error was that when enemies or my units move around the battlefield the movement gets really jerky and it will show them moving to impossible locations before suddenly jumping into the space they were actually moving into. Since this is a turn-based game, that doesn't really affect how a battle goes, but it does look silly and unpolished. The base management is not as deep as the other XCOM games, but there is some research to do, upgrades for squad members you can get, and you do have to balance where you want to assign your team members to achieve your goals.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 21: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Much smaller and simpler than Xcom 2, but still a fun game to sink 10-20 hours into, especially for the price
This game is a buggy, janky mess (even moreso than XCOM 2), it feels rushed from a technical aspect, but it's still a fun package overall. It has a unique enough identity that it doesn't really feel like the other modern XCOM games; smaller encounters, initiative, more story-focused presentation, etc. It's also much easier than XCOM 2 with just some very basic strategy, which was kind of refreshing after pounding my head against the harder difficulties in the other game for a while. However, it clearly shares the same DNA, so it fits into a nice niche. While I wouldn't say the game is incredible, I would say it fits squarely into the "fun to play through one time" category. Probably 7/10.
It has most of the familiar mechanics, if you've played any of the previous X-COM games, but offers new ideas and mechanics, with protecting the city, using the abilities you fought against in other games, and an intresting take on the future of the world after X-COM 2 (spoilers!)
Amazing and funny video game. I really love it.
Either you get what they were going for here or you don't. In hindsight this game was ahead of it's time. It could have used an interactive conversation system to let you actually talk to your staff, but the bite-sized encounters and limited base-building makes this feel more like a mobile game, and either you like that or you don't. If you don't want an extreme challenge long war and instead want a bunch of bite-sized encounters, you're going to enjoy this. It's obvious that the problem they were trying to address is that people were ONLY using Snipers, getting their specialized squad members killed or ignoring them completely, and not getting the evocative mix of specialized squadmates that was intended. In reality the squad balance has also always been broken and by eliminated snipers and giving all squad-mates some broken abilities it's a noble attempt to create the original vision for the games which was a series of exciting encounters with mixed heroes, rather than a squad of only snipers taking two steps and then going into Overwatch. In particular it's really nice to have squadmates that can create kinetic shields and fight up-close without constantly getting killed or seriously injured before they can do anything. In XCOM 2 I was incredibly excited for squadmates with swords, until I discovered they are basically completely useless because they don't do enough damage, their powers are extremely difficult to pull off, and they aren't spongy enough. So in that sense this game fixes what was broken in XCOM 2. The breach mechanic is really just rolling the dice for starting scenario, but it does slow the game down such that it's effectively just another layer of missions prep, which might not be the best idea. It is fun to poison spit and draw enemy fire right off the bat. I also appreciate that now you have RPG style initiative instead of constantly swapping squadmates to optimize your attacks. Forcing you to actually use each squadmate in turn unless you use their one-time initiative boost to a fellow squadmate makes the encounters faster forces you to deal with poor positioning or initiative setup rather than spending 10 times as long messing with turn order every single round. The game will run on a potato PC but takes a lot of storage for some reason. The music is relaxing so I actually have the sound on instead of muting the game and playing music while I play. I vastly prefer comic-style still images to in-game cinematics so I hope the series gets more of this in the future.
It is decent.
Mappe minuscole, poco rischio in genere. Un piccolo zuccherino a chi manca il frenchise di Xcom ma senza piena soddisfazione.
