Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2/day in the week to Aug 14 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is not XCOM. From the predetermined characters to the Latin phrase Chimera Squad uses ("Diversity is Our Strength"), to the "everyone gets a turn" style of play, this is more like WokeCOM. The story is watered down and boring, the "squaddies" all look and act like DEI hires, the "bad guys" are all white people (the only ones in the game), and there's no real risk involved. Squaddies can't die permanently, they won't STFU with their inane lines, and all you have to do is tell the game what to research. If this is supposed to be a remake of XCOM: Apocalypse, or just "inspired" by it, the dev team completely blew it. Save your money and skip this disaster.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 19: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

It was pretty good.
kompletter Schrott
Can't bring myself to play it, this game isn't it. You don't get the customizations as xcom 2. Its still based animations. I low key wished it didn't exist so people who never played xcom2 would see it.
The Game is a Good Turn Based Tactical Shooter.
An interesting attempt to continue XCOM, that I feel does a lot well. A big question you may have is "I enjoyed XCOM/XCOM 2. Will I enjoy this game" The answer is "maybe". With XCOM2 you could jump into the game without playing the tutorial and pick things up rather quickly. But you couldn't do the same with Chimera Squad. CS is more focussed on short, intense combat encounters in small maps. Your squad is also made up of pre-made characters: the only cosmetic you can change is their armour tint. On the one hand, this takes away some of the charm of forming bonds with your soldiers. But it allows the Squad to have more fleshed out personalities. I love the dialogue in this game. A big selling point is the fact you can play aliens. Most of the characters are quite fun, and as mentioned their personalities are great. All in all I'm enjoying this game, but I acknowledge not everyone who liked XCOM may like this entry.
I bet my ass this was a Android/iOS title at some point in development but they decided to make a PC port of it instead. What. A. Garbage and absolutely insane downgrade to Enemy Unknown and XCOM 2. The only cool thing about this one is being able to play as alien units (I'd really like a viper waifu Torque to squeeze me for 2 points of damage every turn) and that's it. Firaxis claimed that this is an experimental title but I genuinely don't see what they were experimenting with. Chimera Squad is so watered down it's not even funny. I got this in a bundle with War of The Chosen expansion for XCOM 2 for pretty much free and I still feel robbed.
垃圾
XCOM simplificado que no está mal hasta que juegas en modo hombre de hierro y la partida se buguea y no puedes seguir. Definitivamente con más errores que el resto de la saga. Hasta ahora no me estaba pareciendo mal juego.
