Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2/day in the week to Aug 14 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 19: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Compared to other Xcom games this is a letdown. The combat is way too simple and the balance between classes is non-existent. The breach mode before a mission starts is just wasting time, it doesn't really matter what you choose, the result is the same. The "between missions" time-sink is tedious, besides the upgraded armor and weapons everything else doesn't matter, if you want to get something of value you need the scavanger.
I loved this game. Don't worry about the story, the story stopped making sense after Enemy Unknown, and it's absolute nonsense in this game, but the gameplay is as fun as ever.
While it's scaled down in scope compared to XCOM proper (especially if you got into Long War 2)... It's basically bite-sized XCOM, and totally worth playing. It's also nice seeing a timeline in which we get to see how Earth is recovering from the invasion. ...That said, why did they make the Xenos sound 100% human with zero voice modulation type stuff? It really would have added, I think.
Game crashes during important plot points.
XCOM simplificado que no está mal hasta que juegas en modo hombre de hierro y la partida se buguea y no puedes seguir. Definitivamente con más errores que el resto de la saga. Hasta ahora no me estaba pareciendo mal juego.
It's been years since I played this, but stumbled upon it again seeing as it's currently on a heavy discount. I bought this retail and I don't regret it at all, for the current low price, it's an absolute steal. Others claim they run into bugs, but for me it was no worse than any other XCOM. Maybe I got lucky. I don't remember the characters being obnoxious nor the bad humour. I just remember the same solid XCOM gameplay with the most unique character builds of all of the games. It is XCOM lite, base management and the world map are pared-down compared with the mainline entries.
Un spinoff curioso de X:COM. Tiene sus luces y sombras, pero es entretenido.
