great
Premessa, a me piace fare combattimenti spaziali.

good
One of the best Space/Empire building games out there with all the interconnected systems you could wish for and then some. Learning curve is extreme in this case. Tutorials do not prepare you for what it offers but there are many many guides out there to help you understand every little system or mechanic. I see many negative reviews stem from the difficulty of new players to understand the systems and UI but honestly, once you learn them from a content creator like Captain Collins or such, they are pretty straightforward, even if you still have to go through menu page after menu page to find the info or command you need. It is easy to criticize their incredible amount of UI red tape but honestly I don't see how the UI can be streamlined without dumbing the game mechanics down. And like previously mentioned, if you take the time to look up how it all works, it starts seeming logical. Mods mods mods.... The freedom X4 gives you with mods is incredible. Feel like crew training is too much of a hassle to hunt for seminars and capable crewmembers? There is a mod for that. Do you want to have more complex trading scripts for your merchant fleet? There is a mod for that. Do you want to be able to target and order your wingmen to target enemy capital ship specific susbsystems? There is a mod for that. Do you want 200 extra ship models and paint jobs? Look for the mods. Do you want to turn it into Star wars? Yep, mod it in. Like everything with X4, it is not very simple but once you jump another 2 hoops you can make it do whatever you want to. The bad: Character models and voice acting are absolute crimes against humanity. Even with modded models, the characters are plain scary to look at. It's a good thing you spend most of your time on ships, not stations. But on that note. Once you understand how the universe and economy actually work, you can just park down in a busy station like a wharf decks and just watch the many ships bringing components and goods for production and can see the built ship "materialize" in front of you, you can't not appreciate that every component was not just spawned in but actually created by the economy and industry in the game universe. I find this aspect truly amazing. Once you start playing with this aspect, that is when you know you are past your new player phase. You can cripple your enemies economy/industry, you can boost your allies economy/industry, or you can exploit both for profitssssss. When you spend 1-2 hours in the wares encyclopedia with pen and paper in hand, noting down what is needed for your Advanced Electronics factory to work, how to set it up logically and have it supplied by your own fleet to sell to warring factions... that is where X4 really starts. TLDR: do the tutorial, start a career, play around for 10 hours without much success, watch 5 hours of youtube tutorials, and you are a fresh beginner. Leaving noob state starts at least 50 hours in, you either have the patience or you're better off skipping it, but if you do, you are missing out on one of the best modern space games.
Update 7/10 First, thanks to the developer for responding. I redid the tutorial and using the voice prompts it was easy to land. When I click out the first time, I lost the voice prompt and was lost how to dock. Once I docked the first time in a regular game I immediately bought the landing assist module, and that helps alot. The scenario I had started WAS wayward son (I listed the wrong name) and starting a new one I get a mail saying to go to Station SCA Pirate Bay (HXN-981) in Silent Witness XII. That was the same one I thought was a Main quest one not a SIDE quest. (Why would that prompt so early in a game, that's so confusing) . Anyway I went to a nearby station and got the snooping around done. 15 mins max to get it done. I will say that each new type of quest I have to go online an look up how to do it and do tutorials. A lot is thrown at a player in this scenario. Not sure this is the best new player base game experience. I would have thought some simple delivery or 1v1 combat mission. Changing my review to positive (since there is no neutral) ======== Rough new player experience. During the tutorial I was docking, couldn't figure out why I couldn't land, clicked on something and got an external view and didn't know where to land (you have to ask for docking clearance again) 30 minutes gone. Then I searched for what scenario to start with and it said Untested Explorer, so I did that and have to scan a starbase. Eventually I got an email to go to Silent Witness XII. So I start trucking there and get killed by a pirate. 1.5 hours gone. 2 hours into the game and I have yet to finish the first mission in the first scenario, so now I can't get a refund. I've got 155 hours into Elite Dangerous, but man, X4 is rough, I've gotten nothing done, and learn nothing to build off of. Can't recommended. If I can (finally) advance in the game, I'll re-review
gotta catch em all
