purchased this game at its release played x, x2, x3, and was super excited for x4. got over 200 hours in before I gave up. controls were wonky, and after about a week of giving it a rest, I forgot how to play the controls are so bad. So, here i am 8 years later. new computer. using mouse and keyboard instead of a joystick. Figured some issues would be fixed. Couldn't even finish the tutorials. on the combat tutorial my ship was stuck in reverse and I slammed into the station. kept resetting my input controls (mouse and keyboard, default settings) so that I had to keep hitting shift space to reenable mouse steering. But ship was still stuck in max reverse. finally fixed that (have no idea what reset it) then I started a game. did the patrol begining adventure mode, where you have to fix a satelite. (sorry, Im a bit distracted. kid keeps saying Im misspelling words, like satellite. I don't care, dads ranting) couldnt figure out how to disembark the ship. every time I go into a menu (had dead satelite targeted, was stopped within 50 meters) the stupid ship would reverse and take me away from the satellite (kid says thank you for spelling satelite correctly last time. still dont care.) Id be like 1.6k away and have to fly back. finally decided to take out my phone and look it up. Swear, I was in the ship menu (enter key) and didn't see "get up" like 4 times. but, control D works as well, and I can do that without slamming my ship into reverse. exited the ship. Now my space suit is in full reverse. Cant stop it. x dont work, y dont work, z dont work. I can hit tab and start moving forward at like 5 meters a second, but I cannot stop. Its either full reverse if im not doing anything, or max thrust with tab. Stupid game. I just saved and quit. Maybe in another 8 years we will get another 10 dlc and they will finally fix the stupid input bugs. Edit : same day, quit, restarted, issue went away. also figured out when mouse steering goes away you can left click and drag the mouse and move your ship that way without constantly hitting shift space to get steering back whenever you exit a menu.
I've played No Man's Sky, Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen. This is the game I've been searching for. There's nothing else like it. Learning curve is a bit steep but well worth the time and effort. My only complaints are probably the usual: UI is a bit clunky/non-intuitive and the graphics are outdated. Once I got past those issues, I've been having a blast ever since.
Best space sim
Genius game, great 9.0 update. My only complaint is that some of the AI orders you can give to ships are absolutely useless because the AI just does not execute it properly, and the star system of pilots is not very rewarding. Luckily there is ways around it - the most critical orders work reasonably well, and once you get to managers pilot stars no longer matter.
Was watching Cohh play.. looked so much fun. But i dont have 10k ppl watching and guiding me. trying to ask anything in this forum and you get the most acoustic replies. Not so much fun alone and trying to watch videos taht make any sense on yt. over all it was a waste of money i dont thikn ill ever tough this again.
Keine Erhaltungskosten! Kein Sold! Was an geld reinkommt gehört dir!
