Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 7.43/day in the week to Sep 11 → 10.14/day in the week after.

Schade, wieder rausgeschmissenes Geld.
Great game as always

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I've owned X4: Foundations for quite a while, but only recently decided to give it the attention it deserves. The tutorials are absolutely essential. Without them, it's very easy to feel lost. Even after completing them, the game has a steep learning curve, with countless mechanics, systems, and features to understand. One of the things I found most interesting is the variety of starting scenarios. I've restarted several times just to experience the different beginnings and get a better feel for the game. Each start offers a slightly different perspective on the universe, making it worth experimenting before settling into a long-term playthrough. The biggest challenge is how quickly the game can overwhelm you. Missions, storylines, opportunities, and activities appear from every direction, and it's easy to lose focus if you try to tackle everything at once. However, that's also part of its appeal. X4 isn't a game you rush through. It's one you gradually learn, explore, and master over time. From what I've experienced so far, this is the kind of game that rewards patience. I can already tell it's going to provide hundreds of hours of exploration, discovery, empire-building, and uncovering the many stories hidden throughout its living universe.
This game easily gets my love it and HATE IT award. It is so close to being my dream game, but the design of the UI and the command system is just too German. It is absolutely ridiculous how you have to delete a unit's last order before issuing a new one. They are so close to solving the problem with urgent orders in 9.0 but they still miss the mark. What I want is a hotkey that tells a unit to forget everything else ever existed and just do the new order. Think about StarCraft for instance. You tell a marine to go from point a to point b. Then you change your mind and tell him to go to point c. He doesn't go to point b then point c. He doesn't go to point c then point b. He certainly doesn't stand at point a like a lobotomite. He goes to point c and awaits further orders! And the game simply wouldn't function if that wasn't the case! And don't even get me started on the inability to drag a box and select multiple units! You practically have to take a college class to play this game. I wish more than anything that Egosoft would go bankrupt and the X franchise would be bought by Capcom or some other Japanese developer. Someone who understands the difference between complex, complicated, and intricate. BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT THE SAME THING!!! I'll still recommend it because it's a favorite despite my huge problems with the game. Just make sure you understand what you're getting yourself into. TL;DR, You must be this autistic to ride. - - -------- - - - - - -
This review is based on 9.0, I had no experience with this game prior. Had previously passed on it due to hearing about jank/bugs etc. Not sure what it was like before but hot damn... so incredibly immersive, the time just disappears. Best space sim I have played to date, although I don't have a ton of experience with this genre. Space ship piloting / dog fighting, RTS / 4X all kind of rolled into one package. Truly the definition of a "sandbox", I am enjoying just figuring it all out and discovering the often unexpected results of my actions.
敢えて言う、このゲームは万人受けするものでない。 それからMODの導入が前提となるゲームである。 Kenshiとか遊んでいた人は気に入るかもしれません。
It's X3 but painful. Everything was easier to do in previous games. This version is so full of feature bloat that it will eventually wear you down to the point where you just don't want to play anymore.
