Peccato. Inizio così questa breve recensione, dopo essere arrivato ai titoli di coda con una stanchezza che non mi aspettavo. Cominciamo dai punti di forza. Il character design e l’aspetto grafico in generale sono notevoli, anche se c’è un netto contrasto tra i fondali e i personaggi. Il combattimento a turni è ben integrato, e le varie mosse sono divertenti e richiamano lo stile del Wrestling. Purtroppo, qui finiscono i pro. La trama è prolissa e noiosa, priva di colpi di scena degni di nota. I dialoghi, seppur leggeri e divertenti, diventano ripetitivi a causa della durata eccessiva del gioco rispetto alla varietà offerta. Ci si ritrova a vagare per una mappa spoglia e caotica, affrontando combattimenti sempre uguali. Dopo 18 ore, ho dovuto attivare gli aiuti al massimo per accelerare gli incontri e arrivare alla fine. Il contatore segna poco più di 28 ore, ma senza aiuti, ci vorranno almeno 35/40 ore. L’impressione è che gli sviluppatori abbiano cercato di inserire troppe cose nel gioco, senza riuscirci bene. Ci sono fasi stealth da eliminare, sezioni di “corsa” ripetitive e puzzle ambientali frustranti a causa dell’assenza di una mappa all’interno dei dungeon. Le musiche sono belle, ma sono poche, così come gli effetti sonori. Ho acquistato il gioco in saldo e, per quei 5/6€, lo consiglierei a chi è curioso. Tuttavia, ho più volte pensato di abbandonarlo e, senza gli aiuti, probabilmente l’avrei fatto. Ringrazio il team di sviluppo per la localizzazione in italiano, che è stata precisa per la maggior parte del tempo, con solo poche righe di testo errate. In conclusione, se il gioco fosse durato 10/12 ore, con fasi più compatte sia per gli spostamenti che per i combattimenti, sarebbe stato un prodotto di gran lunga migliore. Così com’è, non posso consigliarlo a tutti. Voto: 6/10

Its a blast, just pure fun. I feel insane telling people one of the best JRPGs Ive played is about toy wrestling but it just works so well.

WrestleQuest is a game that wrestling and turn based RPG fans will likely enjoy despite its flaws. Its full of heart, humor, and its presentation are strong enough to carry it through most of the experience. But the late-game padding and increasingly tedious turn-based combat prevent it from sticking the landing. WrestleQuest is entertaining but was in need of a tighter finish. Not a bad game for $6 during the winter sale!

Very fun game. I like pro wrestling and turnbased RPG. I encountered no gliitches and found the battle system fun.
