WRC 10 feels like a love letter to rally fans. Instead of simply updating cars and stages, the game leans hard into the history of the sport, and that decision gives it a personality many racing games lack. As a 30-something fossil myself, this nod to a familiar past is a big plus for me. The standout feature is the 50th Anniversary mode, which lets you drive legendary rally cars across historic events, and the way the game recreates famous rallies adds a lot of authenticity for some of us that used to watch delayed tapes back in the day when everything was not live all the time. For rally enthusiasts, this mode alone makes WRC 10 worth experiencing. On the driving side, the handling is excellent. Cars feel planted but unpredictable in the way rally cars should. Surface changes—tarmac, gravel, snow—demand real adjustments in braking and throttle control. Career mode is still lacklustre, there is no escaping this fact, I hope the successors do significantly better. Visually WRC 10 can look a little dated compared to newer racing games, and some animations and environments feel rough around the edges. The physics are strong, but occasional bugs and inconsistent AI can break immersion. Still, what WRC 10 does well, it does very well. The stage design is excellent, the sense of speed is convincing, and the historical content gives the game real character. If you enjoy rally racing, or want a game that captures the tension of blasting down a narrow mountain road with nothing but pace notes to guide you, WRC 10 is absolutely worth playing. 8/10
