This is a nice and entertaining Q clone, some basics from Q1 are in there, but don't expect much of similarities nor anything from the story of this Titan. Coming over this fact, it is nicely set and makes fun to pass through, although of being a hard nut at some parts. These are like in Q- 3 lasting episodes with each 5 levels, where you need to collect fragments, then meeting the boss and passing into the next one. The locations are very varied and like entering another game, the architecture is well done, sound fits well into, graphs can be set with many options to create the own desire, weapons are cool and like in a Doom clone, especially the fancy chargeable mace. The foes are in good numbers and tactics, every with its own weakness, so as the physics are nicely done too. Also there are quite useful artefacts what can boost your character for a limited time, all in all- it makes fun to swipe trough, for me it lasted a bit more than 30 hrs, but it was worth doing so, achievement hunters can have fun with a semi second ride.
I ended up really liking this, but I didn't at first. The game is split into 3 worlds, and the first is by far the weakest. The weapons you're given at the start a peashooters and your basic melee is the worst. One you get the hang of how stupidly strong your secondary melee attack is, things get a lot better. But still, it isn't until the second world that you get weapons that are far stronger than anything you had before. Ammo isn't too plentiful, but plentiful enough to where if you're not too wreckless you'll probable be fine. The third world especially is awesome. You're given even better tools that feels very fun to use. It's a shame that first world is a bit of a gatekeeper. It can be seen in Steam achievements too. Less than 10% make it past the first world. A similar theme is present for level design. The first world is alright but a little same-y. Levels are ok and not too maze like. The second world, again, is far better. It's beautiful and maps are far more fun to traverse. That being said, some (if not all) of the levels are way too large. It's not one of those games where you are constantly trying to find where to go, but it does often feel like you're wandering around with some needless fodder. This again is far better in the third world, where everything really comes together. Awesome set pieces, awesome level design, just awesome all around. I really liked the game, but if every level was a good 30-50% smaller I would have appreciated it more.
Yeah, this is a lot of fun. I am more happier I waited for a sale though, Usually I like to only spend around $15 or less on these types of games. It helps me enjoy them more when I get them cheaper. Grab this while it's on sale, You will not regret it.
game was awsome, enemies and world building is amazing tons of cool weapons and secrets absolutely recomend
Very cool indie FPS. Do you love Quake? Then you will love Wrath Aeon of Ruin.
Peak Design
For a Quake clone, it's pretty good, the weapons, movements, speed and combat are satisfying. Personally I like how less colorful and not too loud like most issues I have with indie fps clones.
