Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot
This is one of those VR experiences that is made for people with limited space. It is unfortunately insanely overpriced, blurry and makes you really dizzy. You play as this disabled “cyberpilot” in a wheelchair on what I assume is your first missions, since you get guided through everything. You are seated in this elevator chair that can move between 4 floors. This is where you spend all of your time off mission. It is mostly just going up and down whenever you are told to and most of the time is spent in the bottom floor warehouse where you “hack” into nazi machinery. So before every main mission, you are introduced to a piece of stolen nazi tech that you help hack into so you can use it on your mission. To start the missions you go to the top floor which has like a virtual cockpit. It always starts off with a small tutorial teaching you the special abilities of your new robot toy before throwing you right into the real mission where you then pretty much just clear the level and win. There are three different nazi robots you get to play with. The panzerhund, a nazi drone and the zitadelle, which is a huge mech. Each one of them has one mission attached to them and then there is one final mission including them all at the end, so 4 missions in total. This makes it a very short game and is essentially why this game has a bad rating. The gameplay itself is pretty good, though the whole looking around by moving the controller thing did make me dizzy pretty quickly. The graphics are also alright, but at times very blurry, but it might just be because I’m using an older and cheaper headset (Meta Quest 2). So, is this game worth it? No, it definitely isn’t. They charge 20 bucks for a game that takes an hour and a half to complete. The only reason I have almost 5 hours in it is because my game hadn’t been closed properly and was left running. I’ll only recommend this if you can get it for like 5 bucks or less on sale, and even then, it isn’t a great deal. _________________________________ Help me out by following my Curator, I’d really appreciate it!!
A very primitive on-rails shooter hastily put together from Wolfenstein: Youngblood assets. The game is also extremely short there are only three levels, and only one of them is actually fun. It’s definitely not worth buying just for that.
It's an okay game for the lore wise that might be a part of future games. But as a VR games I found it not that good. If you expect gun-blazing gameplay like the old game, get away from this game. It's like riding a tank for the whole game (It's actually the Robodog, Drone, or Big mech). You sit in the c0ckpit and control the remote machine for the whole game (2 hours) The real problem is how blurry and sickly the rotation motion is, making me dizzy asf I don't know if someone would have this problem, but for me, play vr game where you control the camera by moving your arm (Some kind of wireless Gear shift lever) is making me motion sick. I can only force myself to play one mission at a time and need 3 hours nap for it. For story-wise, if you don't want to play this game: You are Cyberpilot, a hacked Ubersoldat combat robot commanded by Maria (The red head girl who slapped Fergus for his gooner cybernetic arm behavior)
First mission: Maria has Cyberpilot launch the Panzerhund into Little Berlin, where he is ordered to provide a distraction for a splinter cell resistance group by killing the nazis patrolling an outpost, thus allowing the group to retrieve classified documents. Which contains the information for the experimental Tesla gun that became Elektrokraftwerk in the Youngblood. Second mission: You have to assemble the part of the Tesla gun and attach it to a Na2i drone in order to use it in the mission. You are controlling the drone. Sneak in to Na2i facility and use the drone to sabotage the regulator that powers the energy supply in the building, disrupting Nazi energy weapon production. Unexpectedly, the Nazis disrupt the abandoned facility's primary power supply, causing the cockpit and the chair system to run on emergency power, as well as disrupting Cyberpilot's audio connection with Maria, forcing Jemma to use her only method of communication, texting, to guide Cyberpilot in replacing burnt-out fuses to restore the lab's power and triggering the circuit breaker switches. Jemma is some kind of girl who is secretly in love with you, though. She is teasing you like a favorite adult toy (jk) Maria, having managed to restore her audio connection with Cyberpilot, reveals that the repercussions of the power outage in the building have resulted in the surrounding area around the facility itself losing power as well, before mocking Jemma about her idle chatter with Cyberpilot. Last Mission: Maria explains that in order to destroy the remaining regulators in Brother 3, a full-frontal assault would be necessary. Thankfully, Maria has acquired a decommissioned Zitadelle combat robot. In the Robot Repair Bay, Cyberpilot uses a crowbar to remove the shrapnel residue from the damaged Zitadelle chassis before hacking the robot. Cyberpilot sends the Zitadelle on a rampage through the district, destroying the regulators providing power to Brother 3. Maria terminates control of the Zitadelle, while revealing that the facility Where Cyberpilot was manipulating the robot vehicles was a portion of Brother 3. Now the Na2i have found your location so you grab the guns (2 Uzi) shooting dual-wielding guns and survive on Na2i attack. Jemma said she will send resistance to save you later. End credit roll
Everyone sorta knocks on this game, but I found it.. 'ok'. It is, however, incredibly short, so 20 bucks is asking for too much. And best gotten on sale. You spend half the game doing a bunch of gimmicks and the rest actually shooting nazis. This game is like, not bad, but not that good either. It's simply.. ok. When it's discounted. At full price?.. nah.
For what it is, yeah $20 is not worth it. However, if you even find this game on sell like I did, grab it. I did have an issue with audio at first, had to mess with it in the settings, but I got it working. Games a decent few hours of play and plenty of fun.
Despite the negative reviews, I bought this game on sale, because I wanted to give a fair chance to the entire Wolfenstein reboot. I knew this was a short 'meh' game, but I didn't expect to be covered in sweat and almost throw up after less than an hour of playing and I'm someone who has over 2000 hours in other VR titles without ever feeling sick. Seriously though, if you already suffer from motion/car sickness, do NOT buy this game!
Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot]
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
Oculus Quest 3S*
