Fun take on survival games. Also family friendly with no excessively scary monsters or enemies.
Absolutely love. Theres so much to do and so many cute creatures to tame and level up. I only wish that they would add a way for unused familiars to be out and passively stay at the base, or maybe adding a sanctuary build for them.
Been having so much fun with this game, the only complaints I have is that the building system could be better and the loot system should be adjusted to better fit co-op
I love my familiar and that you can spend your level up points in whichever manner you choose to fit whichever playstyle you want to go with. The player character voice lines are a charming touch.
If you enjoy cozy adventure games akin to the world and structure building style of Enshrouded with the cute creature collection of games like Palworld (with a dash of Genshin Impact whimsy) then Witchspire is for you. Hosted multiplayer to zoom around with friends makes the game even more fun, but I also enjoy single player too! I'm a huge fan already and it's worth the price point even in beta.
While there is certainly an Early Access vibe to the game right now, I can honestly say I've had fun with it so far and I'm intrigued to see how it grows from here. My biggest takeaways are as follows: - Barren Map, huge open spaces with not much to see. Once you have the broom things look a bit better from further out, but I hope there will be more visual interest in the future. I do, however, like that the generous view distance let me see my house from distant cliffs. That was satisfying. There were places to explore, but there was too much blank space in between. - Punchy Combat, I like it. I ended up combining different weapons and familiars and genuinely looked forward to the next fight. However, seeing the same enemies/animals started to get a little stale decently quick. - Building allows clipping. I love it. I can sink my build into the terrain and use jank to my advantage to do what I want. That is very refreshing, I love having more freedom and flexibility. As an avid base builder, I expect to spend a lot of time here and hope that they keep adding more stuff to the build menu. However, the build area around the hearth is not very large, even after upgrading it to 5. Limiting the area doesnt make much sense to me either, since the map is very large and it's not a live server. - Familiars are adorable and I love them. There's a texture and style to them that I just adore. I'm excited to discover more of them and see what else this team comes up with. All in all, I'd say wait a little while if you are on the fence about this game. There are a couple of areas that need more development but for $20 I've had a blast with it so far.
