A great game that i can see myself investing hundreds of hours into. Tho it is still in early access, and there´s a lot to fix, i feel like it´s on it´s way to become an amazing game once it fully comes out.
That Stardustandshadows review is sooo full of it. Chopping trees and stuff doesn’t give you only 4 items.. wtf … also I’ve never dealt with any of the issues they claim to have except the building items being ugly… what games even let you switch out walls you already have up??!! They are complaining about leveling up bonding is to hard???!!! NOT AT ALL. It’s not hard to. You just play the game. In the veryyyy beginning it’s tougher like til level 10-15 of SKILL LEVELING , after that your fine. I maybe caught like 20-30 familiars and level 41 bonding … I also don’t get 4 logs I get 15 at a time … idk what they are talking about. It seems they ran around instead of played the game. Good thing their review doesn’t count towards anything…

Honestly a Fun game to play with friends or by yourself. IF you have played games Raft or Palword then the art style and game play are for you. V Rising is another game that comes to mind when i play this. The Game is fun has a pretty good tutorial and a decent Story that at the time of writing i haven't finished yet do to getting side tracked in the game. This is a fun game to put on when i want to chill and relax with some friends or watch tv and just play something. The only problem i have is with building, it feels a bit "chunky" and rather hard to get use too. I would also add they say you can "build your own spire and coven" but, building anything round is honestly a pain. It 100% need a little bit more fleshing out but this is a pretty good relaxing game.
If you are looking to play this multiplayer, it needs a lot of fixing to make the experience enjoyable. Here is a list of things that need fixed from a non-host perspective 1. Enemy desync. I constantly had to either flee from enemies or let the familiar kill them because where they appeared on my screen isn't where they actually were. 2. Teleporting to hearths. Every other teleport I wound up underneath or inside of the hearth and had to teleport again to be able to move my character. 3. Disappearing hearths. Much less frequent than the teleporting issue. I would teleport to a hearth and it would be invisible on my screen and I could not use it to teleport as it would not register on my client. I had to relog into the game to fix these. 4. Keybinds resetting randomly. This happened 4 or 5 times throughout the playthrough. 5. Inventory management. The game needs a scroll bag and maybe a food or potion bag. If you want to use scrolls, you sacrifice most of your inventory. It's just annoying. 6. Hotbar. You are unable to drag and drop things into your hotbar. It requires multiple mouse clicks. Not a big deal, just another annoyance. 7. Uneven terrain. I avoided fighting on uneven terrain. Projectiles smack into the ground more than they do the enemy. This is particularly bad with the smaller enemies. 8. Bugged quests. No spoilers....There are certain quests that are prone to failing. They even have an Unstuck Quest option for when this happens. 9. Base Building. If you try to build anywhere mob spawn, they will spawn inside your structures. Our first starting base had them spawning inside the floor. They can hit you but you cannot hit them. 10. Enemy resetting. The enemies like to reset to full health if they have to cross features in the terrain. Such as seams in bridges, stuff they should be able to pathfind to you easily and in certain areas they just can't. 11. Non-Flight broom travel. The broom needs to be able to jump. You have to dismount and jump over things that you should be able to easily pass over. There is potential in the game. I look forward to seeing the next chapter if they can address some of these issues. Especially the constant desync issues.
Einfach nur schlecht. Zusammengeklaute Spielideen ohne eigene Innovation lieblos zusammen geklebt. Am meisten Geld wurde wohl in die Review Käufe gesteckt.
[Early Access review, awaiting further updates on some aspects] I am very excited by where Witchspire is going. The gameplay is fun in a way that scratches a specific itch. While it's currently not very complex, it is very easy to jump in and figure out as you go. There's not a lot of hand-holding, so you're left to find the right ingredients or build the right machines for yourself. Featuring a vibrantly coloured world and a range of interesting critters, the addition of magic-theming to the mundane survival aspects is a welcome breath of fresh air. The scenery is gorgeous, to the point running around collecting ingredients is just as enjoyable as fighting the wild familiars. The building is surprisingly good! Normally not my thing, but Witchspire makes it fun. The decorations are cute and witchy themed, I can put a mountain of plants and vases in, and hopefully, there will be some updates to fix the roofing issues. Along with more decorative elements. Currently awaiting some promised quality of life updates, especially with the inventory management and transmog, so if you want to hold off until then, it will only get better with time. Even so, the game is still very good to play and roam around in. I'm obsessed with finding the alternate-coloured variants XD. If you love shiny hunting in Pokemon, then this will scratch that itch while also providing a witchy basis. The storyline is obvious enough to follow, while worldbuilding and lore comes through tomes scattered around the world, giving you incentive to explore and roam the worlds and biomes. I love environmental storytelling, and hope there will be more in the future! For personal desired additions: -I am hopeful more Familiars will get a chance to be set around bases, either working machines, or allowing us to put them on display. My dream is to have a pen of sorts that lets you put a bunch of them to wander around! Right now, none of my super cool ones can sit around the base which is sad! -Having a little marker or icon on a nameplate for when a Familiar is Shifty/Celestial, especially for those that aren't obvious at first glance like Verlai. Or if you happen to get lucky and find a S+C at the same time, the Celestial glitter makes it hard to tell. -More interest/treasure/rare Familiars to the desert. It is very empty in areas, with nothing but floating lumps of same-coloured stone. Floating islands are REALLY COOL and I would love some visual storytelling to add some depth to the area. More hidden lore tomes, more treasures, more plants/ancient ruins/something to break up the orange stone. -Hidden boss fights? It would be a lot of fun to have secret bosses scattered around the map, only found by going into crevices or off the beaten track. Like the cave with the Gwaofeerinax in zone 3; something hidden that leads to a high level boss. Maybe a unique tamable Familiar, like Vex as a reward! -More recipes. This might happen with later updates, but right now, there is not a lot to craft in some of the workbenches. I have stacks of materials sitting in chests waiting. It would be cool to turn them into other things. Like turning the flowers into dyes for transmog in the future! By the time I unlocked the outfits to craft, I'd already found way better options in chests. -Following from above: An update system potentially? Working with things we've already made to improve them, similar to Mirella's options. That would allow more recipes while still working with the base ones. -Fishing minigame + skill tree. This is partially a joke but partially true because there's the rivers and seas and all our Familiars need to eat... I would love to chill by the river and fish up all the varieties... XD. All the best games have a fishing minigame! Overall, I am VERY excited to see what comes next. It's been a pleasure to play, grabbing me and making me want to play more. Now back to hunting more Shifty and Celestials...
Really hard to recommend in its current state but I wanted to support an interesting looking creature catcher game. I think there's a lot of good base ideas here but not a lot of refinement. I can smell what they're cooking and it smells good, but its still underdone If there's one thing I think would really help is more dynamic combat right off the bat, more powers or abilities for the player character and smoother combat for your familiar. If there's a second, the world doesn't quite feel magical enough, at least not in the first couple hours to hook you on the premise. I think they try it in the tutorial but once you're in the world it feels like most other survival open world games Either way, I'm eager to see more and hoping they really find their footing
HONESTLY, THIS IS WHAT I WANTED HOGWARTS LEGACY TO BE LIKE. DONT HATE ME
The polish on this game is surreal for an EA game! My personal pros: ⭐Gorgeous graphics ⭐Nice sound design ⭐Great mobility in and out of combat ⭐I can befriend lots of cute creatures who help me with crafting and fighting ⭐Easy to pick up and put down for short play sessions ⭐Fantastic building tools, but buildings seem to be optional. No need to HAVE to build lots of houses ⭐Resource gathering is really fun to watch ⭐Farming for shifty/celestial familiars is awesome! ⭐Really enjoy unlocking flying on each island before I can fly there (could be a con as well for some) ⭐Simply FUN to play! My persona cons: 🌙Cannot pet my familiars :( 🌙Limited types of resources to get (can be a pro as well! No need for 10 types of wood, buuut it does get pretty same-y after a while) 🌙Only 1 male voice set (tho it is a great one!) 🌙(As far as I can tell so far) No transmog system, I want to play dress up with my little witch to matchy-match my familiars 🌙(As far as I can tell so far) No barber/mirror to change how my character looks after creating them 🌙Lots of creatures/familiars can go halfway through the ground. No proper collision, I think? So attacks can easily miss if there's a hill or something OVERALL, TL;DR: I highly recommend this game to all my fellow witches, builders, and creature-collector enjoyers!
