About
Witchfire is a single-player RPG shooter from the creative minds behind Painkiller and Bulletstorm. Embark on perilous expeditions, vanquishing foes to enhance your powers and arsenal. Scavenge valuable resources and retreat to your sanctuary, or push your luck by confronting Familiars— the powerful guardians of the witch.

Skill and knowledge are essential for success against the Witch of the Black Sea and her witchfire-fueled army. If you die, return to the battlefield for a one-time chance to reclaim what you lost, or attack again with a new plan.

Explore vast, immersive biomes and choose your battleground to confront the witch's forces. Each completed encounter strengthens you and your arsenal through the roguelite system called Arcana. There are countless ways to build your preyer and dominate the witch.

Only the most wicked sinners are transformed into preyers, undead assassins sustained by witchfire flowing through their veins. In the base of operations known as the Hermitory, you can choose from a wide selection of distinctive weapons, spells, and artifacts to build your own preyer.

On each expedition, you can extract your looted items or, if you feel confident, confront the witch’s Familiar to unlock new areas and powerful items and upgrades.

Piece together a story from the past to save the future. Investigate ships crashing on the verge of the witch’s land and locate the artifact that can tip the scales in the ongoing war between the Church and the witches.

During the Early Access period, Witchfire will undergo changes, including new areas, enemies, weapons, and tools of destruction. Help us shape the game to reach its full potential!

It's totally not like dark souls. But it is still the Dark Souls of first person shooter. It doesn't have much mechanics from a soul. But it really is that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard and punishing game that feels unsumountable at first but with experience, knowledge and sheer perserverance, you power through and eventually stuff that seems impossible is now easy. Very high skill ceilling weapons with really neat mechanics that are unique to this game.
Для раннего доступа очень много контента, в шутеры не играю, но эта игра очень затянула. 10/10
Мне очень понравилось бить апперкотом пауков в зубы и бегать, роняя кал, от тонны комаров в топях.
This Early Access Game is more complete and fun than any AAA game you can buy these days! I wait every day for when I can finally go and play it, which shows how enjoyable it is.
Jogando infinitas horas, o preço do jogo tende a zero.
The game is fun without a doubt, the mixture of gun, magic, and even some melee is really cool and I would say they pulled that aspect off. The format of how the maps are repetitive but still have a certain feel of progression that grows with your characters stats, weapons, and gear is actually pretty fun and works. But the negatives are well... kind of spoiling the fun... so at this point in my progress with the game and its stage in development it's really hard to say that it is recommended. My negative of the game is along the same vein as a lot of other negatives reviews, in that there's a difference between a game being designed to be challenging in a fun way and one that's designed in a way that just feels like griefing and unfairness. And the best way I can elaborate on how this game feels that way is like taking the combat/survivability of a souls game and mix it with the map/mob design of a hack and slash, except there's no out of combat health regen, only 3 health pots(maybe 1 more if you are lucky on drops), no spamming aoe, an ammo resource, and on death you lose everything and the map resets, then as the difficulty ramps there comes other variables to watch out for. You are also kind of forced to increase difficulty if you want to do the actual map activities, so it's either be bored in tutorial grinding or increase difficulty. One other personal expectation that is a little disappointing is that the magic aspect of the game doesn't really play a big role in the combat as they function like Ult's where it requires build up to enable them, yes I know... "souls-like", but it makes the magic thematic feel limited and not an integral part of the combat which is a shame since I think a more rotational style could help with some of the issues with the mobs/difficulty and it would be just plain fun. I'm still rooting for the game and hope I get to change this to a positive review later, but overall the game leaves a feeling that you just want some freedom in restrictions, resource starvation, and mob swarming so you could actually enjoy the fun combat and tactically explore and progress in maps for new discoveries and different situations.
за те немногие часы игры, я могу однозначно сказать ДА. Моя игровая импотенция вылечена

One of the dumbest quests in the history of quests called "collect treasure". I will keep this bad review until it's removed or changed. Fire the idiot that made this quest.
Absolute banger of a game. Gameplay loop reminds me of Hades, where you always start a run from your home base, kill bunch of enemies, unlock stuff, repeat. The combination of exploration, awesome guns, enemy variety, everything clicks together and I love it. There is a lot of gameplay mechanics and some of them can be really challenging, some stronger enemies will demolish you, especially when you first meet them, but you can always make another run and recover your lost resources. Lots of different build possibilities, guns that can be upgraded the more you use them, which makes them even more fun. There is magic too! The only negatives I can think of is the TAA based game engine which makes the game look a little blurry and my rage quit tendencies when enemies absolutely destroy me because I get stuck in terrain. Other than that its an awesome game: buy it, these talented devs deserve your support
