Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 22.11/day in the week to Aug 4 → 46.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Witchfire is a single-player RPG shooter from the creative minds behind Painkiller and Bulletstorm. Embark on perilous expeditions, vanquishing foes to enhance your powers and arsenal. Scavenge valuable resources and retreat to your sanctuary, or push your luck by confronting Familiars— the powerful guardians of the witch.

Skill and knowledge are essential for success against the Witch of the Black Sea and her witchfire-fueled army. If you die, return to the battlefield for a one-time chance to reclaim what you lost, or attack again with a new plan.

Explore vast, immersive biomes and choose your battleground to confront the witch's forces. Each completed encounter strengthens you and your arsenal through the roguelite system called Arcana. There are countless ways to build your preyer and dominate the witch.

Only the most wicked sinners are transformed into preyers, undead assassins sustained by witchfire flowing through their veins. In the base of operations known as the Hermitory, you can choose from a wide selection of distinctive weapons, spells, and artifacts to build your own preyer.

On each expedition, you can extract your looted items or, if you feel confident, confront the witch’s Familiar to unlock new areas and powerful items and upgrades.

Piece together a story from the past to save the future. Investigate ships crashing on the verge of the witch’s land and locate the artifact that can tip the scales in the ongoing war between the Church and the witches.

During the Early Access period, Witchfire will undergo changes, including new areas, enemies, weapons, and tools of destruction. Help us shape the game to reach its full potential!

This game is great until the difficulty ramps up. The game uses every cheap tactic in the book to make it hard. Instead of intelligent design they just make it unplayable. enemies spawn in right behind you constantly. Enemies are damage sponges. a ton of enemies have the ability to instantly teleport or jump right into your face. while others fire very effective sniper shots at you. They will keep spawning over and over all around you. When things get crazy there is so much visual noise on screen that half the time you cant even see what you are doing. You have to keep moving except every thing you do requires stamina and even getting hit drains it. So you never have the stamina to actually keep moving. Enemies almost never drop health or ammo so a lot of the time rng will just screw you and there is nothing you can do about it. You will get overwhelmed and die to bs. I love games that are very challenging. But i want them to be challenging in a way that is fair and fun. This is not fun. Its just frustrating. This problem is getting worse as they keep making new enemies but at the same time dont power the player up to deal with them. If you want the game to be a hectic mess on high difficulty and spawn enemies behind you while being sniped, mortar bombed and charged then i need more stamina and damage to engage with the enemies. Hopefully they address this so that i can call this one of my favorite games again.

真tm的好玩。简直是针对我所有的敏感点做的订制倒模。
I am struggling with rating this, I wish there was something in between yes and no. But as it stands, I can only vote no. It's not a bad game in itself, I mean, there are good things like: - The movement/gunplay does feel like Destiny - Guns and spells are varied and interesting - Combat is fluid - There is quite a lot to unlock But then there is also: - Tons of invisible walls restricting that Destiny movement, also you cannot mantle edges - The stamina mechanic restricts your movement further (and somehow some guns also drain stamina due to being "unwieldy") - There is fall damage but no health regen. So what is the point of all the cool movement then? - The maps are small and not pretty. Like, they just scream "basic Unreal Engine map" at you. Maybe that is just me, as I'm not a big fan of UE anyway, but this game looks so "generic UE". - That ties straight into the gameplay, because an expedition is just walk around the same map, and do the same stuff (I think leveling up randomizes maps? I did not pay attention). You always just fight a set number of encounters, collect some stuff nobody is really sure what it is used for, run into some traps and fight the boss. - The "quests" are basic fetch quests, which then turn into "walk over the map to 3 spots and listen to dialogue". - The game is barely playable with a controller. I need to explain this one: It is in fact playable with a controller just fine, but there comes a point where you need to land those headshots in sequence or you die and I have no idea how to do that with a controller. No amount of bullet magnetism helps there, and the majority of gun perks focus on precision. - It will make you "what the heck just oneshot me" quite a lot. Like Destiny, it explains next to nothing, and only communicates via chat-like flavor text with you. Apart from that guessing game, most of the traps and other kinds of roadblocks are straight up no fun to encounter, - It runs just ok-ish? Yes there are quite some effects and whatnot, but it is quite demanding for the generic UE look the game has. Yes my PC is old, and that is an excuse to not run CP2077 on max, but this? All in all, I think it does not offer enough for the asking price of 40 bucks. Feels too much like "small indie game". I would have given a positive review if this was a 20 money units game. I even got it on sale, yet I still feel like I paid too much. For 40 you can get yourself Nightreign, and if you came here looking for a Nightreign substitute, as in "Roguelike PVE Extraction game", this is not it, certainly not. Nothing will ever replace that masterpiece.
Just a great game. The guns feel so good to use. Combat is tense and the game challenges you to improve at it. The TL;DR is: soulslike FPS with fantastic progression, combat and gamefeel set in a Cthulu colonial-times dark fantasy setting. think Bloodborne as a shooter and you're like halfway there. The progression system is probably the best part of Witchfire, so I'll focus on that. In order to unlock more of the game, you must complete certain milestones/challenges then CHOOSE to increase a special stat, Gnosis. Gnosis represents your ability to understand and exploit the powers of witchcraft. Each level unlocks more combat mechanics, more equipment options, and more parts of various maps. When I say more equipment, I mean not only more guns and spells, but more options to form your build. You get access to more and more ways to empower and specialize your character that weren't available before (e.g. relics, which enable special abilities/combat conditions, or more rosary slots for various minor buffs.) Here is the key though: increasing Gnosis makes you more of a threat to the Witch, so she responds by improving her forces and defenses. AKA difficulty is increased! And not just with more HP, but with more traps, enemy types, challenges, etc. Again, you CHOOSE when to increase your Gnosis, and you can't reduce it. (You can't unsee what is now seen.) This is amazing because you control the difficulty scaling of the game. If you want to keep it easy, you could choose to grind up a bunch of levels at your current level of gnosis, giving you a strong advantage in combat. Or if you're eager for a challenge, you can increase your Gnosis ASAP, requiring you to punch above your weight and figure out how to leverage all your new kit options. Regardless, when you do choose to increase Gnosis, you are rewarded with more game! And this makes you want to improve, noy just for challenge, but because the game rewards you for it! The game is just about to reach it's 1.0 release this summer. Currently its 0.9 and its polished as all hell. The only things I feel its missing for me right now as a new player are a tighter story, and more music. Small nitpicks that I'm sure will be addressed in 1.0.
I mean, the game is really not for me; my perception is that it has souls-like DNA to it, and I do not really like those. On the first few difficulties, I did have a lot of fun. Some people say that playing the maps over and over again gets boring, but I disagree; when the game has a difficulty curve (and it also adds new stuff to the map with every GNOSIS), it does feel good to master it. However, assuming that a normal person would up the GNOSIS level the moment they can, like in any other video game with the perception of constant progression, the difficulty will get ridiculous very fast. After a while, I just accepted I won't be able to see all the stuff that can be unlocked with a higher GNOSIS, because I really do not want it to get even harder when I can barely get out without getting pummeled once, and if I die twice, I lose everything. When you upgrade the character, the character's power level does not pace well with the difficulty of the maps themselves. The map will cluster four areas together. When you start to shoot, you realize one of the areas is high-difficulty, and then it will start to spawn enemies around you. Then it will throw a second wave because one of the other areas is the highest-level difficulty. Then you kill those, and a horde of enemies that came out of the portal shows up. In the middle of it, one of the familiars (mini-bosses?) will appear and start shooting, and then while you are trying to manage it, you get swooped into another area, and then, and then... You end up fighting the whole map, which obviously means you will die before all the listed things happen, and there is not really a way to manage it at all. What ends up happening is you are constantly managing risk and extracting at the first chance, which means you just grind. And the grind is the worst.
This game is a masochist simulator. You drop in, the game is fun, then by the 3rd map that is unlocked the game starts to get absurd. Enemies overwhelm you, they spawn in and immediately attack. Sometimes they dont even register on the minimap unti they already hit you. Also getting hit makes the run harder, shooting shields, shooting while the gun is empty, getting noticed by certain enemies, leveling up all make runs harder. You level up and gain barely any power boost but the game punishes you for it. I like challenging games, but sometimes you gotta tone it down. Hard games can be fun but this is miserable.
BLUF: I hate Destiny. I don't like Tarkov. I don't have enough patience for Dark Souls. I don't mind RNG mechanics. That said, this game is fun. Is it difficult? I don't really think so. It can be if you ignore the stamina mechanics and level up Gnosis too fast. Nice graphics, story needs work, lore is neat, progression is rewarding, gunplay is nice, vibes are cool. More in-depth stuff: The main reason I think people complain about the difficulty is that they don't level Arsenal, Mind, and Faith skills much when Ascending. They focus on getting more hit points, stamina, and healing thinking they can brute-force the early game. The main objective isn't to tank hits, it's to not get hit in the first place. You also get diminishing returns when leveling stuff like Flesh or Blood past level 25. Weapon range and ammo count matters, you pump those first, it won't be an issue. You won't be doing 1HP of damage if you level range up. I think people also level Gnosis too quickly, notice a huge spike in enemy variety and traps, then rage quit because they can't zone out and play the game in the background while they're high or something. If you get hit, you lose stamina, might panic, spam dodge and sprint, slow down to a crawl while huffing and puffing, then get ganked because you ran into the center of a 3-wave node (not looking at the map) or got greedy. There's more than one play style, but some of the maps play nicer with different styles. If you play Velmorne with snipers and a grenade launcher, you're gonna get tilted when you get rushed by Spinners. Again, I say this as someone who hates extraction shooters and slop like Destiny, this game is fun once you learn a couple basics. Take your time, level up, don't get greedy, learn enemy attacks and counters, and it'll be fun. I've died maybe 3 or 4 times in the almost 60 hours I've played as of this review and it was genuinely my fault every time. The game needs some work as far as certain mechanics (Fallen Preyers mostly) but it's not awful as someone who started playing as of the 0.9 update.
For early access I've had very few performance issues or bugs. Gun play is on point, most weapons feel viable and there is enough variation to keep it relatively fresh. I took my time to explore and complete all the content for each difficulty level and finished the end game after 35 hours. Having said that though, there is still more content and reason to keep playing. Overall, the game play loop is fun, its not overly difficult but just enough to be challenging and it looks great. Solid 9/10 with plenty of room to grow, if your on the fence, get it.
I like the style and gunplay but can't stand the delivery. replaying the same levels over and over isn't fun at all. it gets old really quickly.
