Witch's Pranks: Frog's Fortune Collector's Edition

It's not often I can't wait to get home to play something these oh so jaded days. For some reason this is the one that did it for me. I don't know if it was the pleasing art or that I was able to make progress in the little bit of time I had to plays this in. So, if you like goofy and cute read on even if you are a gamer tm, branch out and have fun. WP:FFCE has one of the worst names but it is kind of par for the course in the Hidden Object world which this game is most like. I say most like because it heavily leans on Adventure game logic and moving around to different scenes much like old ZX Spectrum games would back in the day. You'll end up traveling through a mirror to different inventive and frankly stunning worlds trying to transform frog princes back to just princes and probably have it completed in under 4 hours. My only complaints are the fmv footage is fuzzy and stutters like an old PS1 game and I wish it had one more story in it since they didn't make any more of these.

This is a very stylish point-and-click adventure puzzle game. There are very few screens that count as being Hidden Object, and all of them have to do with gathering broken pieces of items to repair the image, so I can't quite call this a hidden object game. That said, the story is entertaining enough for a roughly 2.5-3h runtime including bonus chapter. The art is quite attractive in a twisted Mother Goose sort of way, with moments of genuine beauty. The puzzles are not so difficult or tedious that I found the need to skip any, and while there were repeats in puzzle type, they did not overstay their welcome and typically had a reason for resembling a similar puzzle - all in all, I'd say the most common actual puzzle showed up three times. It does suffer slightly from "find x number of shaped cabochons to unlock the door" syndrome - but there are just as many physical, purposeful items to find along the way, including some tools that see re-use. If you're looking for a HOG, this ain't it - but if you're happy with puzzle-solving adventure games, then this might be a good fit for you.

This is truly a great game. Eventhough it's pretty old, it's still very fun, has nice graphic design and the storyline is immersive. I really enjoyed doing the puzzles, since they're very diverse and unique. I've played a lot of games in this category and this is the one I liked most and my opinion is not likely to change. Definitely recommending this to people who like games with just a small amount of horror aspects. The 3 difficulties make the game more accessible for all types of players e.g players who don't want to spend a lot of time on puzzles and would like to skip them, players who want to experience the game in normal mode, and players who want to try their best on the highest difficulty. I used to play this a long, long time ago and recently have played it again, just to have even more fun. 10/10 game in my opinion.
