About
Vilde—a first-person roguelike shooter where Norse mythology breaks every law of common sense. Grab an ice-forged AK-47 or a rocket launcher that rips open black holes in mid-air and fight your way through levels that rearrange themselves with each new run. It’s chaotic, it’s dangerous, and it’s wickedly fun. And yes—saving the world of Vilde: is on you, too.
⠀
23 WEAPONS
Lava Sniper Rifle, Thor Minigun, Ice AK. Frost Railgun! Warhammer? Sure, we got everything! Every weapon’s got a real alt-fire: black holes, teleports, chain reactions. You will surely break something.

15 ABILITIES
Four slots for abilities. Meteor storms, Ice walls, Earth slams and much more. Some combos feel insane. Combine with runic effects and guns abilities.
⠀
WORLD
The world is alive. You die and it shifts. You’ll fight across three locations, each with its own tempo, mood and gameplay. Enemies unlock fresh ways to end you. Blink strikes, armor bursts, surprise lasers. 24 unique mobs, each with unique skill set.
Ready for some gaming madness? Then jump in! Build your killer loadout, smash Norse beasts, and see how far you get before the loop chews you up and spits you out. Again.

Fantastic game if you like "Sea Of Thieves" art style + norse aesthetics, and enjoy shooter roguelites like "Roboquest".
Really fun game
There's a lot to like in Vilde - Nordic roguelite with guns is for sure a bold choice, the atmosphere is genuinely appealing and there's a clear passion behind the concept. I can see where this game wants to go, but for now it still feels like an early access title rather than a full release. I hope the dev keeps at it and gives the game the polish it deserves, especially when it comes to performance and optimization - then I totally plan to once more wake up on the drakkar. Again :)
EDIT: Re-purchased because of the update and devs pinging every negative review. Plus it was cheap. The smarmy "companion" you get in the hub alone deserves the thumbs down twice more. That ♥♥♥♥ is as insufferable as it is unfunny. Beyond that, I will commend the devs for at least sticking to it, if nothing else, even if the end result of year's worth of work is, at best, what the game should've been launching into early access. Shooting feels somewhat better, in the sound department at least, as you can reliably tell if you're hitting something. The actual handling and speed of various actions is still a mixed bag. Music is still bopping, despite feeling entirely out of place, setting-wise. Otherwise, level design is still arse. Enemy AI is best described as "lobotomized". Getting damaged has zero feedback. Funky aoe circles (and good luck guessing which particular enemy spawns them) tend to appear right below you and are much too small and too flat to be seen in time in most situations. Couple semi-runs is all I could stomach. Second impression about as bad is the first. Go play Mycopunk. OG text: Jank supreme, of the "my first roguelike" variety (incidentally, what the game's exe is called), with flaws so fundamental I doubt any amount of updates can fix them. Theme is alright, some weapons look... fine, and there are certain bops on the soundtrack (so much so the audio actually clips), but that's about all the positives. Weapon and general combat feel is undiluted dogwater - flaccid feedback, zero punch, but with an occasional atrociously overdone camera shake. Damage to and from the enemies feels like... nothing, actually - there's barely any indication beyond the health bars moving. It's Unreal, so despite having what one would call an art style to its models and textures, it still looks like hot garbage - over-saturated, overly reliant on them fancy engine effects and just plain ugly. Maps are a mix of messy tight corridors with enemies barely fitting inside and simple arenas full of line of sight blockers and high walls and platforms - evidently to encourage double jumps, but there's barely any incentive to use that. Which isn't to say dashing feels any nicer, but it's mostly functional. The three bosses I've encountered all share the same pattern - they're stationary, and they're big enough that you are forced to aim really high up to hit their weakspots. And here's the kicker - most of their attacks hit the ground level, so you won't see a lot of them coming while you're busy stargazing and plinking the boss. Top-notch design there, 5 stars. One could talk about the game mechanics, but it's nothing interesting or new, for that matter. All in all, waste of time. Play Gunfire Reborn, Roboquest, or even Battle Shapers or Deadlink. Hell, even Ziggurat 2 is a much more fun experience despite its deliberate simplicity.
Vilde absolutely nailed the core roguelite gameplay loop here. What separates this from dozens of other Gunfire Reborn clones is how the room-to-room loop operates. 10/10 loop, zero grind fatigue
At first, the gameplay is incredibly engaging. But then, the interest fades. The game itself is fantastic, but it's sorely lacking a co-op mode. I hope the developer doesn't forget about the game and releases an online mode and introduces new weapons and abilities.
I playtested this game and I must say it’s a very nice game with a solid challenge. It has that “one more try” feeling where you keep pushing yourself to improve. When you finally succeed, it really feels rewarding. The replay value is strong, mainly because experimenting with different weapons and abilities changes how you approach each run. Choosing your setup carefully makes a big difference. I definitely recommend it, if you enjoy a bit of a challenge.
Good game but it gets repetetive
