Het spel is zonder update niet te spelen. na de update werkte het traag.

Good physics, pretty outdated graphics and good fun but IMMENSELY difficult. I get killed 8 times out of 10 by Il-28 tail gunner whenever I try to shoot it down with F-100 Super Sabre. And dying in campaign is PERMANENT. You have to literally start it all over again. Also, it's strenuous to get it working on Windows 11. I wish the spiritual successor Strike Fighters 2 would some day get optimized for Win 11. That's the day when I will buy it.

The Steam version has a lot of bugs, it nearly doesn't work on Windows 10 system. I don't know if this is a non-official one or not. So I have purchased the latest official versions of WOE, WOV and WOI from their Third Wire web site. They are running perfectly on my computer! Pros: +You can select many planes and weapons. +You can shoot down two or three bandits at once if they are too close to each other. +Random campaign missions. The length of campaign is depending on tank numbers of both sides. +Very real aircraft cockpit instruments. However, the manual only gives examples of three aircraft cockpits. +Recon mission can be finished immediately if you switch to No.6 waypoint. +The design of unit AI is very flexible. Sometimes, a B-57 or IL-28 light bomber will chase an enemy fighter before or after it finished the bombing mission. Cons: -The button of engine fire suppression system is just a decoration. -The wheels of Hawker Hunter's landing gear is locked in the easy mode. -Enemy airbase Erfurt is completely invincible. It means every mission about this airbase will be failed. Tips: 1. If you shoot down the leader of a squadron before he can give attack order to wingman, then his wingman will not attack any enemy. For a large squadron (e.g. eight bandits), odd number bandits are leaders. 2. In the easy mode, AIM-7 can be used to lock and attack ground targets except buildings, AGM-65 can be used to shoot down bandits from behind as a long-range and powerful AIM-9B. 3. Throw a chaff can break enemy SAM radar's lock.

Aparentemente é um ótimo jogo mas tenho windows 10 , boa memória, boa placa de vídeo, processador i7. O jogo não funciona direito no windows 10. Dá crash toda hora, fps super lento. Encontrei vários macetes na web tipo baixar tal dll mas não funciona pra qualquer um, pra mim não resolveu. Se vc não quiser passar raiva não recomendo.

For all of those who yet wants to give it a chance, the last WOE patch "WOE_Update_Oct2008b.exe" cans only be found now here: https://combatace.com/files/file/7573-woe_update_oct2008b/?_fromLogin=1 (but you have to create an account), as far as I know. To make it work with my setup (intel corei7 12700K 3.60 GHz, 32,0 Go RAM, win11 family, radeon RX 6800xt, screen 3440x1440 wide), I had to play with options. Yes, I installed all patch mentionned here and there (official Oct2008b + generic 0076 + Skyrim) but I don't even know if it's usefull or not, I didn't use "Shift + F12" for generic. No compatibility mode is necessary. I set resolution to the correct one (3440x1440x32), but choosed "wide 16:9". I had to choose "medium" details, then "custom" to select a high resolution cockpit. And it worked, no more crashes back to desktop, or freezed action in place of main screen menu. I think I can, step by step, put some other features to "high" but... well, you got the idea. It also worked by launching it from steam. I'll soon provide a complete opinion of this game. But this will not be such honest since I am kind of nostalgic of those old "flight simulator", more identified now as "jetfighter game" comparing to actual flight simulators.
