Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 23 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

RPG Maker strikes again! Wind Child is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development. This time Andorlea/Warfare/SimProse/whatever other shell account this guy uses to try hide his identity has once more stamped out a painfully generic copy + paste RPG Maker asset flip. Just like this "developer" doesn't actually do any game development, they also didn't do any game deisgn either. It's horribly basic, riddled with grammatical and spelling errors, full of stock copy + pasted RPG Maker assets... no real game development has taken place here, this is just a cash grab, it's shovelware polluting Steam for profit. This "developer" has dumped over 100 copy+pasted RPG Maker asset flips onto Steam, and keeps pumping out minimum viable product RPG Maker asset flips as rapidly as possible to try gouge gamers. One or two RPG Maker asset flips on Steam is bad, but over 100 from the same person, this is a systematic attempt to pollute Steam for a few bucks, and it's not okay. We must ask why this ongoing pollution has any serious value for gamers or the gaming industry. This kind of cash grab construction kit shovelware from bad actors like Andorlea gives amateur developers a bad name. This pollution takes marketing space away from genuine indie developers who are doing the right thing, and making real games instead of copying+pasting premade assets in a children's video game construction kit. It makes it harder for gamers to find genuinely made games. This pollution is harmful to Steam, to gamers and the gaming industry. Like most RPG Maker shovelware and asset flips, the game features extremely low quality copy + pasted 2D retro pixel art, looks awful, and has even worse gameplay. RPG Maker is an absolutely terrible construction kit, and never results in games of any reasonable quality or value to gamers. Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this only appears around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards. Wind Child has the greedy, cash grab price of around $7 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. Gamers who want a good retro JRPG experience would be better off playing the originals, like Final Fantasy, Star Ocean or Chrono Trigger.

Wind Child is another game that showed promise yet failed to deliver. While from a gameplay standpoint the game itself is solid, there are still some things that could be improved upon. The largest and most glaring thing to me was the lack of aoe spells. It wasn't until I was two-thirds of the way through the game that I was given any sort of aoe spell. Speaking of spells, there were few items that improved upon magic defense. Considering that spells are the main source of damage later in the game for both enemies and allies this is a large issue. When it came to the actual story it failed to hold my attention after the constant stopping of gameplay for little cutscenes. Each cutscene was there to improve the story and would appear to happen after every single completed task you finished. This however wasn't even the worst thing the game did to the story. The game itself isn't even completed, there is no grand conclusion. All you get is the main character finding their sister and wanting to quit. After some coercion and reconsidering from the main character you decide to go to a new location where you find hyper inflated equipment prices up to that point, a bunch of backtracking quests, a final boss battle and a cutscene that just ends the game on an unfinished note. On the topic of backtracking, let's talk about the level design for Wind Child. Wind Child is full of huge maps with seemingly nothing in them. In fact once you go through some of these larger areas you also have to backtrack and forth just for key items to progress. There was at one point a puzzle where you could only see one tile in any direction away from you and then had to find a key. Well that key was hidden within a huge maze filled with twists and turns that added nothing to the story. This is just one example of a puzzle being poorly executed as a way to pad play time. It's unfortunate that a game with actual potential and intriguing plot points early on was riddled with many bad design choices, an overabundance of dialogue, and a completely unfinished story. Had the story been finished I likely still wouldn't have recommended it due to the poor design, but the lack of a finished story makes this impossible for me to recommend to anyone. Do yourself a favor and find a game that actually gives a fully finished product instead of one that's been half-assed.
i love the part where you marry the hot as elf chick and form a hot harrem and ♥♥♥♥ i dunno i never played the game
A gentle, atmospheric little game with a relaxing flow. Short but soothing.
💋
It's not an easy game and that makes it great for those who like a good challenge, Its got a decent story and I would recommend to anyone who likes all of these RPGMaker games.
Some parts of this sweet game really challenged me. It was hard to understand at first but then I got the hang of it and finished the game. I wish I could forget it and play it again. It was a nice experience. I recommend it to those who like this kind of 2D games. ^^ <3
I got this on sale for ? 2$. And for that I say yes. $5 is stiff if you remember the "buy used PS2 at gamestop days" and compare. It is not a strong like. There are pros and cons. There is a allot of "blandness" to it? But at the same time, hard to explain, good story (dialog you can actually read not rush to skip), music that is not rpgmaker re-hash music, and art that is not in other rpgmaker games. Say - if you get a few $2 games and a few free ones will you set this aside never open it? No I think you'll open it because it's different and definitely has some good points to it. Say you bought a few $40 80/hr RPG and a couple $60 collosal graphics (rpg) games. Yea ok then you'd probably not get around to playing it for some time maybe never :)
