I really enjoy this game. I struggle to see why it gets such negative reviews. It runs very smoothly with the highest settings on my old computer with specs way lower than the requirements (I even get a pop-up in the main menu letting me know the game isn't going to run well... but it does run well). Either way, so far I'm having lots of fun fighting big monsters. I got the game heavily discounted, which helps. I enjoy the NPCs and the setting a lot too.
My experience with this game. I already had the EA Launcher due to FC25 from Steam. I have experienced only 1 crash and that was while adjusting the graphic settings before starting the playthrough. Afterwards it did not crash a single time for me. It launches by default with 1080p at 60fps. I adjusted it to 4k with 120 FPS and turned DLSS on (it is off by default) With a 4080 Super I got about 90-110 FPS on highest settings. I capped the FPS to 85-90 FPS in the Nvidia Control panel. GPU sticks to 80-90% Utilization and about 10-12gb of VRAM usage (as said, max settings at 4k). The game runs fine. The game looks good in some parts but it cannot be compared to other modern games. But it definitely feels like the game pulls more ressources than it should for the visuals that you get. Gameplay: It looks and plays really similar to regular Monster Hunter Games. But it is faster paced and has a different pacing. In this game you move faster, dodge faster but can also die faster. Unfortunately they also have the "stun" mechanic from MH World. And the stun really takes long (feels like 15 seconds). Good thing, you have a dedicated jump button! It is more "fantasy" than the regular MH games with monsters having more "spell-magic" based attacks. I got drop kicked by a lavaback gorilla and he pulled a meteor from the ground and busted my a** with a fat explosion. Really fun. It felt definitely more stressful compared to the first 5 hours of MH world. The build-mechanic mid combat feels REALLY weird. You can build a trampolin mid fight to jump and do a plunge attack on a monster? You can build a tool mid fight on the ground that lets you dash for like 15meter and you can combo it with a big slice attack with the greatsword? You can build a wall in 2 seconds that blocks a huge monster when it charges at you and knocks it back? And probably a bit more as I have only started. The only issue I had is actually understanding what everything does. But when you play some more and get more into the combat, it clicks and you get a nice flow going. If you are good with comboattacks and learning how to fight against monsters, you can make some really spectacular moves. In my opinion, if you enjoy Monster Hunter, and gameplay matters more to you than everything else, get this game on sale. Its fun to play. Only 7 bucks on sale for this, I cannot complain. But I would not pay full price for it.
Juegazo
keeps crashing and you need to restart fights all over again
bought at discounted price, still not worth it. Non stop lagging and stuttering, can't even work past character creation. what a trash
Honestly, the game is pretty fun. It is getting a lot of poor reviews, primarily because of the poor optimisation it has on PC, but if you can sacrifice some of your shiny high graphics or FPS to enjoy the game, it is well worth it. I can't really talk about performance myself because I am running the game with no issues on max 120 FPS. My only complaint is that, as to be expected from a game this old, you struggle to find help with some of the fights, so if you can get a friend to play with you, it helps a lot. To be clear I did buy this on sale if you can get at least 10 hours of fun out of it that is good value for money.
Some performance issues and the NPC is annoying, reminds me of monster Hunter worlds, 7/10
