About
Use momentum-based movement mechanics with precision, deploy a variety of tools and resources, and ascend as fast as you can.
Just don't lose your grip, there’s eternity below you.
Manage your inventory or become encumbered and fall to your death. Failure to grab what you need from your bag in time can spell disaster.
Through run-based meta-progression, you’ll discover and unlock varied augmentations.
Bolster your will to ascend.
You're not alone down here. Strange life flourishes far underground, and darker things haunt these halls. Something oozes from the depths– following you, growing angrier… and it won't let up.
Travel through different regions with unique threats and gameplay challenges during your attempted escape of the underground megastructure.
The deep dry storage of the Silos, the putrid sewers of the Pipeworks, the haunted piers of Habitation. Each area will require adaptation to new obstacles and denizens.

great game, great depth of movement, great storytelling visibility could sometimes be better but it's probably part of the experience
if you are afraid of being chased up an abandoned research facility by a mysterious soup and then going to a different research facility to be chased by a single mom and her kids plus an angry soup worm then dont play this game. if thats what you want to do then play wuckle. now that i got the funny bit out the way, white knuckle is genuinely one of the best games i have ever played. it is a physics-based rougelite climbing horror game, situated around escaping a seemingly random but hostile environment in an abandoned research facillity. the aim is to use every tool possible to escape, putting you on the edge of your seat using high-pressure situations. if you are a fan of high octane games and intense pressure games, white knuckle is for you.

Pros: - Lots of replay value, even more than most rogue-lites. - The atmosphere is on point. Art style, music, graphics, all of it blend together into a beautifully oppressive mood that makes you wonder if you'll ever get out alive. - The game can be darkly humorous sometimes. A brief respite from the horror, even if the "humor" holds terrifying implications itself. - Plenty of content beyond the main campaign, as well as a bunch of secrets. - If you're Just That Good:tm:, you could beat the game on your first try. - If you're a speedrunner, this game will cater to you. Leaderboards for various modes and endings, a standardized competitive mode, extra challenges for the masochistic, and more. Cons: - If you're *not* a speedrunner, this game can be brutal. A single *successful* run for someone new can stretch into 1-2 hours. For a game that relies on tension to keep the player going, losing a run late-game can feel punishingly awful. - Late-game, the inventory can feel incredibly limiting. You do get a trinket to help with this, but it only does so much, especially when you're expected to juggle a variety of different tools and weapons in order to survive the most difficult ascents. Overall, I recommend it. It's a brilliant game, and if you're into the kind of high-octane CBT or crack-addled spider monkey high that a rogue-lite climber like this can provide, you'll be set for a long time. Even if you're not, I'd still at least try the demo—it's likely one of the most generous demos on Steam, and it's not unheard of for people to sink dozens of hours into it.
What can I say about this amazing master piece Im going to give it a great rating the climbing mechanic is soo unique and fun , I feel like watching a beginner play this game compared to someone who has put some time into and then a speed runner it is amazing as to what kind of skill ceiling this game truly has !! I am in awe with how the story has progressed and I dont think I will ever truly uninstall the game especially as it is constantly growing. I cannot wait for the game's full release and see the full stories and all the different and wonderful routes that you can take. Currently for me a 10/10 in my steam library

Stressful, Scary, and Exhilerating, This game balances the fear it pushes upon you with ways to fight back. And sometimes, that fighting back is climbing faster. The stress I felt reaching the Abyss and the Nest for the first time made my heart beat FAST, but it was so much fun. I recommend this game wholeheartedly. 10/10
very fun and addicting. i love this. and why isnt this more popular?
Don't buy this game if: - You want a game just to pass the time. - Your like the vibes or ambience. - You just like the obscure lore and mystery. Buy this game if: - You like restarting the whole game every time you die. - You have no occupations to attend to. - You think being good at "hardcore videogames" makes you superior somehow.
