This is an ok game (in 2025) but nothing really stands out. It does evoke, to some extent, the atmosphere of the first season of the TV series and for some perhaps that is enough given that this is the only game that spawned from the show AFAIK The voice acting is fine but the story itself is dumbed down compared to the TV show. The gameplay is just simple "find the key to progress" and "hide and seek" sections that don`t really present much challenge. The graphics are average and the playtime is really short (3-4 hours), the story never really gets going and ends abruptly. Perhaps this was the best the devs could do given the time and budget for a VR only project but I am still left with a feeling that games like this don`t make the case for VR as a viable gaming medium.
The game itself is actually fun and interesting, especially if you watched the show, but what destroys it is the enemy AI. I spent 10 minutes sneaking around a place just for the AI to get stuck next to the table i was hiding under. There was no way to get away anymore and I had to restart the entire section. Also if you play with Oculus controllers the game shows you the HTC Wands instead and the controls dont quite work. Its a shame cause the game itself is actually quite solid. Not worth 25€ though. Id get it on sale for maybe 5€ at most
Ehh...If you enjoy the series and think it would be fun to play a linear hide and seek story line then maybe. It's maybe worth $10, in my opinion. Personally I found it insanely annoying that the story line was so simple and no real action gun slinging happened. Anyway, the quest controls are a little wonky but are manageable but come on...I cannot recommend this game. However, I can recommend watching the show through your headset as that will be much better than playing this game, hands down.
Great game let down by out dated controls. Default is OG vive wands and Oculus controllers are usable but hindering as you have to click the swivel stick before you can turn. The game is a horror thriller where quick reflexes are paramount to survival. You cannot respond quickly with the default bindings and try as i might i could not map the click to turn mechanic to something more fluid. Really is a pity as i doubt the devs even look at the comments here. Such a potentially great game
Get it on sale. I wouldn't play unless you've at least watched the first season of the show.
Good game but it could have been a great game as there are a couple of flaws. Not worth the full price as you can finish it (rushing) under 1h30 knowing you cannot skip cutscenes. The usual trick to make it last longer is to force you to play the game in all the difficulty levels in order to unlock all the achievements. The only “difficult” puzzles in the game are the doors locked with a pattern code, and you don’t even need to open them to complete the story. Whatever the difficulty level you choose, the NPCs or even your character will directly tell you what to do, over and over again. Which can be a bit annoying when you want to explore the level before moving on. The puzzle themselves are always the same throughout the game: scanning stuff, finding keys or switching on or off electricity and that’s about it. During the stealth sequence, there is no challenge whatsoever either. But I guess I am just asking too much from a walking simulator. The controls are a bit janky. You have a hard time grabbing furniture. You sometimes drift forward even though you are not pressing any buttons. If you grab a key, you cannot drop it and need to use it before getting your hand back. A lot of levels are way too dark and some objects, even in plain light, are still covered in shadows. You are frozen/teleported during the cutscenes and if you move IRL, you might miss some of the QTE. The subtitles are not always well synced with the dialogues, and I am not sure if it is a me problem, but it seems there are not well aligned between both eyes forcing me to close one eye to be able to read them properly. It is also sad that the game only supports 4 languages. That said, they made a fantastic work with the acting, dialogues and the models. Even though, in chapter 1, they did not bother animating the mouth of the guy behind the computer as you cannot normally see him (but it is VR so...). The levels are faithful to the series and you really feel as if you are in Delos. The story is great and is sometime referencing events from the series which is always nice. I would have liked a longer and a more challenging game but the issues listed above are not sufficient to not recommend this game as it was a nice and enjoyable adventure.
Una historia muy guapa, muy inmersiva. Con PSVR2 mejor aun, menudos negros, menudo contraste
Survios—somehow these guys get licenses for cool franchises only to deceive, ruin, and abandon them afterward. Barely playable with Quest 3 controllers.
I was really excited to play this game, but the controllers on the meta quest straight up suck. I can't move fast because I have to click, the explanations are for a different controller and have to figure out the button that they're refering to. If I change the control mapping (as recommended IN GAME), left quest controller fully stops being detected by the game, so I have basically one functioning hand and zero movement whatsoever. Experience ruined by the lack of support for meta quest controllers/headset. Requested a refund, not even worth to keep in library.
