Westard

This game could be very cool. Unfortunately, it's very glitchy. movement is whacky, you get stuck on everything including nothing at all. the sights on the revolver feel misaligned. but this game is a very cool concept and with some tweaking and fixes could be a great VR experience.

I had a great time playing Westard. Although the graphics are simple and cartoon-like I found them to be effective and appealing. Multiple options for movement are available including teleport, arm-swinging, and free locomotion using the trackpads. I used free locomotion but made a custom binding in Steam so as to use thumbsticks for my Windows Mixed Reality headset (which works fine by the way). You can turn around using room-scale (i.e. turning in real-life) and there is also an option for smooth turning or click turning in various degrees. You have multiple weapon slots that act as holsters which you access using the grip buttons. Reloading your weapons is manual, as is cocking your pistol/rifle. I found this both fun and satisfying. I did find that 2 handed weapons were a bit clumsy to use at first but I got used to them fairly quickly. Aiming is difficult (I'm a lousy shot!), especially with the pistol, but rewarding when you land a killing shot. Enemy AI is simplistic and unfortunately a bit buggy. If you shoot at them they will shoot back but will generally stay in their assigned area. They aim with better precision than me but dodging their bullets is fairly easy (provided you're not seriously out numbered) and fun. If you stop shooting at them they will forget about you and go back to what they were doing (generally doing a simple patrol circuit). Sometimes they wouldn't respond at all to being shot at - hopefully this will be improved by the devs.

FASTEST GUN IN THE WEST, this game is really fun but movement is pretty glitchy. this game makes me feel like an outlaw and its really cool and it makes me feel like arthur morgan, if only it werent so silent and glitchy. BUT HELL YEEEEEEEEAHH ITS GOOD!

Game is dead but can still have some fun if you run through the campaign with a friend! Haven't really encountered any game breaking bugs tbh but it can be a little glitchy at some times.
