Werewolves: Haven Rising

its pretty fun i love the story, every choice feels like it matters to some degree. ive played it over about 3 times and the ending really hasnt been the same

Inspiring story about struggle and resistance against military oppresion.

this is a close one. i will probably give it a thumbs up, but i am undecided, as of yet. the setting is interesting, some of the authors ideas are also intriguing. but it all feels artificially constructed, in a way. everything happens as the author wants it to happen. which i a bit lazy, i think. i would really like the author to have the story develop in a logical way. like he simulates the world. but he bends it to his wishes. and sometimes he really cuts corners ... compare this one to choice of robots or choice of magics and you will see a huge difference. still sort of okay, though. just my 2 cents.

I didn’t like "Werewolves: Haven Rising" nearly as much as most people seemed to. It wasn’t terrible by any means, but neither was it great. (5/10) The game plays out very similarly in every playthrough, and I’ve had a few. For example, even if you side against your oppressors each and every time and agree with Haken, you’ll still end up opposing all-out war for some reason until very late in the game. What’s more, even if you find out or suspect who a certain traitor is early, you have no option to say as much or do anything about it. Similarly, even if you’re taught how to use “Rage” by Bly, you never actually have the option to use the ability. Also, it’s bizarre how strength and fighting proficiency are linked to two different stats in this game; vitality and combat, respectively. This results in situations where you can do things like tear an enemy squad to bits but then be unable to make your way through a door because you’re too weak. Ultimately, I think the game deserves a positive review, but just barely. (5/10)
