This series and Wayhaven are the best things going in the CYOA world, at least until a Rebels: Uprising sequel materializes and joins them. What do you want to know? I know what I look for in every one of these so I'll try to answer the questions I have before buying a CYOA game. Do you have a lot of choices? Yes. You are presented with a lot of choices and rarely read more than a page or two without some sort of input. Do your choices offer meaningful impact to the direction of the story? More than ever; yes. You can really screw things up, get people killed, and ruin everything. You can also really assist positively. You also develop meaningful relationships to characters that open new paths, which is a meaningful impact in and of itself. Is your character meaningfully represented as the same one you played in part 1? If you import your character, they will be faithfully portrayed in this continuation. No amnesia or sudden or convenient shifts in who your character is or what they've done to accommodate the direction of the story (I'm looking at you Samurai of Hyuga >:/) Additionally, the recap is exhaustively thorough and even if it's been a while since playing part 1 you will be well informed of what happened. Are the choices clear and their implications rational? YES. You can easily understand what your choices are intended to accomplish, you will not be blindsided by outcomes that make no sense or feel arbitrary and misleading. Well written? Engaging? How about character development? Yes, yes, and it's good like it was the 1st time around. Get it or nah? Get it.
Can't wait for third game. It was so nice. Bring it on, please.
This is a great second part to the first part. Worth the money.
After finishing the 1st book in the series, I eagerly awaited the next release. On the day Werewolves 2: Pack Mentality came out, I instantly bought it, eager to resume the story from Werewolves: Haven Rising. And Werewolves 2 did not disappoint. The writing was great, on par with/better than the previous installment, and was enjoyable the entire way though. I am eagerly awaiting Werewolves 3, excited to continue the story further. Personal Score Rating - 10/10
So, this the second chapter. A chapter I have only ventured... 3 times? Each continuation was based off old saves from the original. (Why cant we save yet in chapter 2? I just had the most unexpected twist and I cant save it for the next installment! Please Fix?) This story is impressive... ESPECIALLY if you muddle through the first one enough. ( That is key.) At first it seemed monotonous, the jail, escape, and continue... But then I went back to the first chapter and changed circumstances... It was then that so many things changed. The key is to play EVERY path. Shoot, I haven't even been feral in one path yet and still have discovered SO many new outcomes. I am astounded by this writer. He has written an insane amount of outcomes and written it so masterfully. This story sucks you in and keeps you. You may try, again and again, to discover everything but the path to truth takes more... And what a path it is! You must take risks, step outside of your bounds to experience it all! Ask yourself... How would you truly deal with the odds against you in life? There is no black and white in life, and this game mirrors that fact. It beautifully encapsulates the calamity that is life and with every choice... There is no going back. Magnificent writing, excellent story... Thank you to the writer for this story. This has been, and continues to be, a work of art. I love it. On a side note... Please add saves soon? I am wasting so many tales without one save point for the next story but, other than that... Freaking perfection. Shoot... I love this series.
ArrrrrooooooooooooOOOOooo "Only good human is a dying human who tells you where to find his mates..." - Morglum (Human)snapper Was tempted to kill everything - BUT saved some for later. (Generally only the Werewolf fan club guys, they can live) I shall not be caged! (again) Good sequel, 9/10.
Solid story and written format. I found the choices and stats matched accordingly to what you wanted to accomplish, for the most part. Curious to know why there isn't a stat just for Sonoma, as opposed to her entire faction; Similar issue with there not being an Inferi stat despite her having a regular role in the story.
Just as amazing as the first game! This story feels a lot more open in terms of choice than the original. I love every moment I spent reading this and I look forward to the third book!
werewolves (in wolf-shape) can have sheepish looks on their faces? that is just sloppy writing ... the game is very black and white. it lacks depth. and some options are like 3 out of 4 would be downright moronic / utterly idiotic. and the last one sort of makes sense. so i picked that one and was praised for my clever question. it wasnt too clever, only compared to the other idiot choices. it is almost like the writers want you to play as an idiot. "here, there is another chance just do or say something that makes you look or sound like an imbecile." the is a large werewolf camp with hunters, scouts, warriors etc. but nobody secures the perimeter. the scouts dont scout. there are no sentries. so a bunch of human freaks can waltz in and attack. because it was scripted, they stumbled across me and i could warn the camp, okay. but had i not been there, every werewolf would have been surprised be the lynch mob -- sure, makes total sense. the first one was okay-ish. but the second werewolf game ... no, it is not thought through, sorry. edit: just sloppy. a werwolf almost attacked me, but i talked her out of it. the next pages are about the aftermath of her attacking me. the trauma i suffered from her attack -- what attack?? this is just ridiculous. just lazy.
The game gives an imagination experience and if you love to read its just the perfect game for you
