If you ignore everything wrong with this game, this is the best game ever
Fix the bugs and the game will be goated.
This game is deeply disturbing (complementary).
UPDATE: With the last patch, 1.0.3b, they addressed all of the issues I was having and I am actually able to play the game, therefore I am reversing my thumbs down to a thumbs up. I do still notice some performance issues when accessing pages on the "Dark Web", however, the game is definitely playable. I am glad the developer is paying attention to the bug reports and addressing them as quickly as they have been. I will say, sometimes it feels like you basically need to be perfect in execution to be able to survive some of the attacks. Like the breather for instance, I was just on the edge of the hotel porch when he got me the one time and the second time I was _maybe_ 1 step further and survived. I am still having a lot of fun though. This is definitely a game where you need to expect to fail A LOT before making any progress! Looking forward to the future patches to address some of the performance issues. ---------------------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW: I would recommend waiting on this purchase until they fix some of the bugs in the game because some of the bugs basically make the game unplayable. As many people know, a major part of playing The Game is navigating the Wiki. To get to the Wiki, you must use your desk computer and run a program called VirtMesh which allows you to connect to another computer that you can then use to surf the Dark Web. Two bugs I have personally encountered are: - Randomly, the VirtMesh program becomes inaccessible. You launch it, it shows in the task bar at the bottom of the computer screen but you just can't access it to get onto any other computer. It just does not work. - Randomly, the desk computer screen goes black. You can see the cursor, but that is it. When you click it makes a clicking noise, but nothing happens. You can't seem to exit this at all to get back to a working desktop. You can right click to leave the computer, that works but the computer itself is not usable. The odd thing is, if you get hacked, you get all of the graphics like you're being hacked, you can play the mini game to defend yourself and when it's all done, back to a black screen. The only "workaround" to the above two items is to reload at the previous checkpoint (which these happen on the hour in normal mode, but in any other mode, I don't even think there are checkpoints). On a reload it is a coin flip whether you'll encounter the same bug again or not. Another aspect of this game is the killers. A major aspect to surviving them is identifying queues as to when they are going to attack and avoiding them. Many of these are audible queues. Well, the sound sometimes stops working. Like the game just goes silent almost like you switched your audio output. _IF_ you noticed this, you can hit ESC to go into the settings screen and that seems to fix the issue, but most of the times this has happened it has been too late and I noticed the sound was off when one of the killers is talking to you as they kill you. I think the real frustrating part here is that these bugs are random. There does not seem to be a reason or trigger for enacting them that could be worked around. Because the last patch introduced a way to reduce performance specs on the in game computer, I suspect the developers and the people not having issues, have really high system specs or something and that is why they are not having issues? I did have to reduce the specs in order to get the PDF viewer to even function in the game. It's only a guess here even though I think my system is pretty decent, that is the only thing I could guess. --- When I was actually able to play the game, it was fantastic. I loved the storyline behind this one as compared to the others and the expansion of the things you can do on the computer itself is incredibly fun. Meticulously identifying the queues for the different killers and trying to nail that down before playing The Game itself was a lot of trial and error and I thought would be tiring because of all of the deaths but honestly when you figure out how to avoid a killer, that literally felt like a victory! If they are able to fix these game breaking bugs, I would EASILY give this game a thumbs up, but until then, I would definitely recommend waiting on this.
I've been following Adam for a long time. I've watched his streams and supported the development of the game through comments, suggestions when requested, and Twitch subscriptions. I love WTTG3, and I would definitely recommend it. Adam has truly taken the spirit of the previous game to the next level. The performance is great. I even tried playing it on the Steam Deck, and with a few custom control shortcuts, it's completely playable. Don't do it—I'm just saying that it's possible! That said, what people are saying isn't entirely wrong. The game currently has several bugs that need to be fixed before it can be considered fully playable:

Audio bugs
Overlapping door collisions
Multiple threats occurring simultaneously and unfairly ending a run
Repetitive sequential threat events, such as Lucas visiting multiple times within a short period
In my opinion, a few quality-of-life improvements could also be added:

Adjust the in-game economy. Right now, earning a reasonable amount of money within a decent amount of time is too difficult and heavily dependent on specific situations.
Don't lock the threat and hacking tutorials behind an in-game payment. They may not be necessary during future runs, but locking them makes the beginning unnecessarily difficult. This could drive players away before they have had the chance to understand how the game works.
If I manually remove a miner, give me the option to install it on another computer instead of treating it as consumed. If I get hacked, that's a different situation, and losing the miner would make more sense. The current system has caused softlocks for several players, including me.
Not everyone can understand spoken English, so subtitles should be added to the game's intro.
Add a notification icon when a checkpoint is created.
Again, none of these changes are absolutely essential. They are simply the improvements I would like to see in order to make the game truly enjoyable. I still love the game and believe it has a lot of potential. With some bug fixes and balancing improvements, it could become an excellent successor to the previous chapters.
BEST IN THE SERIES
gonna beat it trust
Playing on steam deck is very buggy, even on the highest settings. Moving my mouse seems to be out of sync by a few seconds with my mouse which makes it difficult to look around on time. The loading of the pages seems awfully slow from what I’ve seen on YouTube. Also I’m not sure if im meant to hear my characters footsteps even if he isn’t moving so please fix that. I know new games can have bugs at first but I pray for updates on this game so I can play it like the last games coz I love these games a lot so please update them so it’s not buggy and glitchy coz I’d love to play this game and finish it without troubles. I also got killed by Tanner which I loved coz he’s my favourite and I kept hearing shuffling and thought it was my character but no it was him lol
Really good game and worth the money, until you learn the game fully you will spend more than 50 hours trying to learn it, if you loved the WTTG series or anything from this developer, this is his best game so far. Definitely recommend to play this. The only addition I wanna see is probably co-op mode where you compete against your friends and if any of you die, you spectate the others.
gamble gamble gamble got 500 dos coins from 100 dos coins that means gambling is good trust
