Beating this game was one of the hardest gaming experiences i've had because i absolutely suck at complex puzzles. However.. It was a fantastic and memorable experience!
Non skippable cutscenes, forced slow backtracking and sometimes unintuitive ways to start a puzzle sequence ruins what could be a great puzzle game for me
很好玩,很烧脑
We Were here toujours un opus de qualité rien à dire de plus, hâte de la sortie du dernier opus Tomorrow.
Great Co-op Game with a lot of fun and intuitive puzzles. Just my opinion, but the lowest point of the game for me was the potion creation puzzle. Far too much coordination and time required to hand off ingredients to eachother to beat it. Honestly would have been better if it wasn't timed.
играли в царя горы, посмертно
Introduction
I have always been a big fan of the We Were Here series. The puzzles are inextricably linked to the atmosphere & story. It carefully straddles that difficulty range of not too hard and not too easy. We Were Here Forever continues the trend of a highly competent, 2 player puzzler.
Gameplay
These games live or die on the strength of their puzzles, and universally the puzzles here are excellent. Most have the 2 players separated and communicating information to each other. For other puzzles the information is shared but each must complete a specific task to allow the other to progress. In no case can one player Alpha gamer the puzzle and solve it independently. Slowly unraveling how to solve each obstacle is the opium of games like this and We Were Here Forever[u/] has the perfect difficulty to scratch that itch. Other than one section where the game can soft lock you, the puzzles were all excellent.
Story
The story.... exists. It provides a little background as to why you are opening various doors and locks. It's told mostly in little cutscenes and environmental clues, but the voice acting is so bad it detracts significantly from one's interest in becoming invested. As window dressing to justify the very enjoyable puzzles it works well enough.
Presentation
The graphics are simple but effective, and allows all manner of hardware to run the game. Sound effects are sparse and lack punch, but it's the voice acting that is truly horrible. Many speak in a sing-song rhyming scheme that sounds very corny. Most importantly, the game makes it clear what parts of the environment are required to solve the puzzles. They don't hide key components and you are presented with all the information required to complete your objective.
Conclusion
If you've liked the series so far this will do nothing to change your mind, it's yet another wonderful entry in a now long running franchise that I hope continues to put out quality games.
