Quake 3 if it were good. The best strat in this game is to avoid all enemies as much as possible and go straight to the boss, kill him and get the skull. Also, the shotgun is the meta, other weapons are pretty weak so it doesn't make much sense to use them.
looks to QUAKE in cartoon style graphics. even for a short time, i still had fun the same. it was a blast. the enemies' screams when you bang into them are hilarious. the weapons seem good and not bad for the gunshot sounds. easy to master, about 15minutes or less. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3698145575 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3725971261
Way to Hell 2 New era is a first person shooter. The game maps are medium size. The game has several weapons from a shotgun to a grenade launcher and a few others to blast away with. The machine gun has limited ammo but there are ammo dumps and health powerups. The game has 7 different maps to play and each one has a pentagram to find after the map is cleared. The game uses the Unreal engine so a wide choice shaders is possible. The shadows suggest ambient occlusion which is undemanding on modern rigs. The settings has options to tone down the game for weaker machines. I played this on my Dell 3480 with Arc Xe graphics and RTX A500 discrete graphics. Game is very playable.

A new era of bad games Hahaha But that's exactly what I love <3
Way to Hell 2 New Era, developed and published by Valkeala Software, positions itself as a straightforward first-person shooter built around a stripped-down, almost arcade-like philosophy. It throws players into a sequence of compact, self-contained levels where survival hinges on quick weapon pickups, constant movement, and eliminating enemies before facing a culminating boss encounter. At first glance, it evokes the spirit of old-school shooters with its emphasis on simplicity and immediacy, but as the experience unfolds, it becomes clear that the game is less a nostalgic revival and more a minimalistic interpretation of the genre. The gameplay loop is easy to grasp and remains consistent throughout. Each level begins with the player relatively under-equipped, encouraging exploration to find weapons, ammunition, and occasional power-ups scattered across the environment. This creates a small but noticeable sense of progression within each stage, as you transition from vulnerability to relative strength. However, while the idea is sound, its execution lacks depth. Weapons feel interchangeable in many cases, with little distinction in how they influence combat beyond raw damage output. Enemy encounters are frequent but rarely demand strategic thinking, often boiling down to simple strafing and shooting rather than tactical positioning or skillful timing. Combat, which should be the backbone of any shooter, feels functional but ultimately underwhelming. There is a lack of weight and feedback in both firing weapons and hitting enemies, which diminishes the satisfaction of each encounter. Enemies themselves tend to behave predictably, with limited variety in both design and behavior. This predictability reduces tension and makes encounters feel routine rather than engaging. Even as the game introduces stronger foes and boss battles, the core interaction remains largely unchanged, leading to a sense of repetition that becomes more noticeable as you progress. The structure of the game reinforces this repetition. Each level follows a familiar rhythm: explore, gather resources, defeat enemies, and prepare for a boss fight that serves as the main challenge. While boss encounters are clearly intended to be highlights, they often rely on increased durability and speed rather than inventive mechanics. As a result, they feel more like extended firefights than climactic tests of skill. The lack of meaningful variation between these encounters makes the overall progression feel flat, with few moments that truly stand out or surprise the player. Visually, the game adopts a colorful and somewhat surreal aesthetic, blending fantasy-like elements with abstract environments. While there are moments where this approach creates an interesting atmosphere, the overall presentation struggles with consistency and detail. Environments can feel sparse, and the repetition of assets becomes apparent over time. The use of vibrant colors gives the game a distinct look, but it isn’t enough to compensate for the lack of environmental depth or cohesion. Similarly, the audio design does little to elevate the experience, offering minimal impact in terms of both sound effects and music. One area where Way to Hell 2 New Era does succeed is accessibility. Its simple controls, low system requirements, and short runtime make it easy for players to jump in and complete the game without a significant investment. For those looking for a quick, uncomplicated shooter or a brief distraction, it can provide a modest amount of entertainment. However, this accessibility comes at the cost of depth and longevity. Once the core loop has been experienced, there is little incentive to revisit the game, as it lacks meaningful progression systems, unlockables, or replay-driven content. In the end, Way to Hell 2 New Era feels like a modest project that delivers a basic shooter framework without expanding on it in meaningful ways. It has a clear identity and sticks to it, but that identity is so limited that it struggles to maintain engagement over time. Players who appreciate simple, low-commitment indie shooters may find some enjoyment in its straightforward design, but those seeking a more polished, varied, or impactful experience will likely come away disappointed. I do not recommend buying it since it's not worth it and has a slop of Unreal Engine assets. Save your money from this game.
More Unreal Engine slop from a shovelware "developer". There are 7 levels, each of which requires you find a "skull" at the end (it's not even a skull). The same two enemies are reused in every level, and the same final enemy too. It takes about 10 minutes at most to run through all the levels. No effort was put into this, it's just a sloppily stitched together mess of Unreal Engine assets.
