Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
Please note: I received a free Steam key through the Steam Curator Connect Program. You can see my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/nabc6GxRZX8 This is a good VR music rhythm game, but it's not Beat Saber, obviously! So as long as you don't buy this game expecting Beat Saber, I think you will enjoy it for what it is. Even though this game is in Early Access, it's pretty polished as is. I think I noticed some lag at the start of this game, but as I played, it seemed to be running smoothly without any issues. The UI is a little rough around the edges and there's only one environment, but other than those issues, everything else was pretty well done. There are 17 music tracks included. None of it is stuff that you've probably heard of before, but I enjoyed them nonetheless. The hand-crafted beatmaps were fun to play. There are usually three difficulty levels for each song. I definitely recommend starting with at least hard difficulty if you're a music rhythm veteran as the normal difficulty will probably be a little too tame. The thing that I enjoyed the most about this game was the ability to easily & intuitively create your own beatmaps. Up until now, I considered Soundboxing to be the king of the hill in that regard in just how easy it is to create your own beatmaps to the song of your choice. You can do that here and there's more tools to play with (different symbols to make your beatmap tricky or flow with the music). I got a good workout playing this game and I liked how it really felt like you were part of the music flow while playing to the in-game music beatmaps. I also think the game is priced very reasonably given what you're getting on day one of Early Access. All in all, it's a pretty polished package for Early Access. I think it's better than most VR music rhythm games out there, even if it's not quite in the top tier of VR music rhythm games like Beat Saber, Audica, Air Tone, or Dance Central VR. [b]Rate 7/10. I haven't been able to play much of this game yet. The game just loads me into a weird menu where songs don't load, and the game doesn't start no matter which songs I pick and whichever cartridge I use. The main menu is not obvious and hard to use. I don't understand the rationale when it seems that this was meant for every type of gamer. When I was finally able to get one song working, it didn't seem to sync. It was just off. I know it's early release, but this is just a rhythm game and it's been out almost a year already. It's not playable for me at least.
First keep in mind this game is still in early access and need some refinement! That thing aside its a great concept! Its more physical demanding than Beat Saber and since you hit stuff with your hands, head and have to follow some patterns this game is also less boring! A great workout experience! Keep on devs! You guys are on the right path!
Game is unplayable and seemingly abandoned. Do NOT buy.
I really was enjoying this game a lot. But now it's broken and unplayable. No music is able to be played and the game glitches every few seconds making it impossible to play. It was fun while it lasted though!
I received the game for free. I played a few songs so this is more of a first impression than a review. It seems like a cool concept, focusing the game more on dance than like Beat Saber does with the cutting of the blocks. The problem with this game, that I don't have with Beat Saber is you need A LOT of space to play this. Beat Sabers maps are tight and you don't need a large play area to play but this game needs a space of at least 7+ (yes I actually measured) feet in width to be able to comfortably hit a lot of the notes that come across the screen. That's a huge negative to me as my space isn't that large.
It was a nice game before. Now has become a mess, songs disappear, and most of the times does not work
I played this game back in september and came back to it recently, it's completely changed from a very understandable and intuitive menu, to a ♥♥♥♥ show where i can't find any levels and just play the game at all, devs what are you doing, get off whatever you're on and fix your game!
B R O K E N (Index) controls ! ? !? ! Very few songs. Custom song UPLOAD doesn't work for me. And Dev doesn't do what they say they will do. Dev, please comment here if it is fixed. Otherwise I might never notice it is.
bought it because I love rithm games and got an upload block to steam community because the feature this game haves to create maps from youtube violates Steam Community & Content Guidelines. (the block was short but it sucks) :)
