About
Water of M is a third-person psychological survival horror game set in a corpse-strewn school.
Explore twisted classrooms, dark corridors, and hidden underground facilities as you search for the truth behind the mysterious “Water of M.”
Solve tense escape room puzzles, evade relentless pursuers, and survive a nightmare where the school is only the surface of something far more disturbing.
As you push deeper, you’ll gradually uncover the truth behind the school—perhaps it isn’t a school at all, but a “paranormal research facility.”
Water of M. Legend says it grants immortality, but here, “obtaining” is never the same as “keeping.”
Customizable Experience:
Tailor your horror experience with toggleable options: turn Blood & Gore on/off, or enable the Retro Filter for a nostalgic visual style.
A horror story set in a school:
You might have lived through it once… but you remember nothing.
Relentless pursuit:
Explore in the dark, but beware: something far worse than ghosts is hunting you.
Your past tricks for escaping won’t work here, so watch every step.
Numerous puzzles:
The puzzles grow more complex as the game progresses.
At first, you might guess the answers — but you won’t be able to guess forever.
Then you’ll realize you should have paid more attention to the clues you found earlier.
No cheating allowed:
Some puzzle solutions are randomized, making guides useless.
Pure intensity:
Familiar places become twisted and dangerous.
In these hallways and classrooms, you’ll be switching between running,
solving puzzles, and fighting — the only chance to catch your breath might come
from meeting your classmates… or maybe not!
Is a good horror game. There are some bugs, but I would recommend it to people to try the game. The music is scarier than the game itself because the sound appears out of nowhere. I would play it again just to get 100% of the achievements. The puzzles are good, I spent a lot of hours walking around trying to understand what to do and where the necessary objects are to open the next classrooms. The most difficult were the fuses to open the fire doors.
Played this horror and damn, the school atmosphere is so good. The game never holds your hand, so you can get stuck not knowing what to do next which might be frustrating for some players. Yeah there are bugs like enemies that see you but don't care, creepy music that leads to nothing. Still, I'm recommending this game to everyone. Explore a school featuring smart puzzles, intuitive inventory management, and simple combat, but held back by a broken hiding system and minimal explanation. You awaken in a dimly lit classroom, disoriented and drenched in blood. In front of you stands a girl who insists she’s your girlfriend, though her face sparks no recognition. Your memory is completely blank: you don’t know your name, why you’re here, or what happened. The only thing that’s clear is that you’re inside a school, and something terrible has taken place. The girl patches up your wounds as best she can, but before you can ask questions, everything fades to black again. When you regain consciousness, she’s gone. Blood stains the walls and floors, bodies lie motionless in the hallways, and somewhere in the distance, a monstrous sound echoes through the corridors. You have no choice but to explore, uncover what happened, and, hopefully, survive whatever is out there. The gameplay is about exploring the school. You’re never told exactly where to go or what to do. There are no waypoints, markers, or highlighted paths, but there are locked doors that move the story forward. You must approach objects to see if they’re interactive; if they are, a small on-screen prompt will appear. Sometimes you’ll just examine and comment on what you find, but other times you’ll pick up useful items that automatically go into your inventory. To aid you in the dark, you carry a small lighter that makes important objects glimmer faintly, revealing their location. However, this tool consumes fuel, a limited resource that depletes quickly if left on. You’ll need to manage it carefully or risk stumbling around in complete darkness. Thankfully, some rooms have working light switches, making exploration less stressful. There’s no map, though, so you’ll have to rely on memory to keep track of which rooms you’ve explored and which remain locked. Since many puzzles require items found elsewhere, backtracking is inevitable. Your inventory is divided into four categories for easier management. The first is for key items, essential for progression. When you interact with an important object, the camera zooms in to show it up close, and you’ll need to select the correct item from your inventory to use. The other categories include equippable items (mostly weapons or tools), healing items, and collectibles, the latter often being documents or personal items that shed light on the story’s deeper mysteries. There are two kinds of healing items, but only one restores health. The other replenishes stamina, a feature that feels somewhat redundant. Your stamina drains slowly while running and regenerates quickly if you stop moving. The only time it becomes a real issue is during chase sequences or when your character is under stress. This is visually represented by a heartbeat icon that appears next to your health bar. When an enemy spots you, indicated by an eye symbol and a visual distortion on-screen, your best option is to hide. Lockers are scattered throughout the school, offering temporary safety. However, you must enter them without being seen. On the other hand, you don’t have to hide from regular enemies. They can be killed quite quickly because attacks don’t use stamina and you can mash the button. Saving your progress is highly recommended, though the game is forgiving with checkpoints. Before major or dangerous events, it usually auto-saves, ensuring you won’t lose significant progress. This is especially important when facing the main creature, a relentless, unkillable monster that serves as the game’s central threat. These encounters are largely scripted, but the creature can kill you in just a couple of hits, forcing you to flee and hide. Unfortunately, these sequences are not explained properly. Even if you hide long enough for the eye icon to disappear, the monster seems to “magically” detect your position once you emerge, leading to unavoidable deaths unless you follow a specific sequence. Some chases even require using classmates as bait. I have no idea if they can be saved because the game gives you contradicting situations. In the first chase, the classmate just stands there in the corner, ignored by the monster. After failing and dying a few times, the monster was suddenly gone and the classmate was alive. He even gave me a reward for saving him. In the next chase, you need to lure the monster to a classmate inside a bathroom. It seems this one needs to die because nothing else works. Update: It turns out the hiding system isn't broken, and it's more of a puzzle you need to figure out. When hiding in a locker doesn't work, you need to guide the monster to a dead body. This will make it "inactive", and you can continue exploring. Puzzles themselves are well-designed and tie neatly into the environment. Most require collecting clues from notes, computers, or scattered objects that hint at the solutions. The challenge lies in identifying which clues matter, as the game doesn’t keep a separate log of vital information. One of the main puzzles revolves around a fuse control room, where you must swap fuses to power different parts of the building and unlock new areas.
