I like it. It's more frustrating than it is fun a lot of the time, but I get the sense that that's intentional. It's supposed to feel like struggle and suffering, I guess. I like the ironic, self-deprecating dark humour of it. It's rather expensive at full price though, so I'd suggest getting it on sale. Edit: Having got all the achievements I think I owe this game some more praise. The misery of the grind is rather well-designed. My first few playthroughs I was quite cautious, trying to keep things balanced and getting overwhelmed by what seemed like an impossible task in such a short space of time. I did not have a good time. In the early game, the $750 you get each month from your mother is essential in not going too far into debt. Like real life, I initially tried to avoid using my overdraft, which was the wrong move. You're mostly dependent on luck to build your deck (Ragequit is OP) -- if you're near week 30 without one, you're better off going for one of the other endings, or retiring and taking a legacy card. Once you have a good deck, one which can take you to the heights of toxicity, to gather viewers, and then back down to secure subs and ad revenue it's like a snowball effect. You just have to keep going, hoping it'll be enough. Once you start racking up the subs, it's quite satisfying -- made more so by the struggles and failures up until that point. I only wish there was an endless mode of the card game, so I could keep on pushing those numbers higher.

Good idea for a game, but despite its art style, it tries too hard to be realistic. The game gives you the option to either work, stream, or rest every week. You have to balance streaming, finances, and your mental and physical health through rest and monthly diet options respectively. Despite these options, the game seems like it wants you to play it in a very specific, optimised way in order to see the later parts of the story for the product you paid for. With the inclusion of monthly rent, quarterly taxes, interest on student loans that have a harsh time limit and has to be paid in full by around week 40-50, streaming taking up all of your mental hp forcing you to rest for a whole week or two, and probably other story-related events that affect your character that I wasn't able to see, it is ultimately not fun. The streaming card-battles *are* fun, which makes the rest of the game that much more disappointing. After retrying a few times you realise you need money, so I tried prioritising working. This resulted in a sudden game-over around week 50 or so, because apparently I didn't stream enough. From what I could tell, there was no warning for this, and you cannot save your game of your own accord. The game only keeps the beginnings of the current and previous 2 weeks, which is not enough of a buffer to get you out of any incoming game-over state. If you feel completing the games you buy makes them worth the amount you paid for them, I'd recommend looking for a different game.

A fun little rougelike deckbuilding game themed around streaming. It's a good podcast game, the vibes are very chill. You get new cards every run, so it can take a while to see the better endings.

This game is actually really good, there is a lot to do and replayability to get different endings. It's addicting, and the more you learn the further you get each time.

funny enough to make me want to get all achievements. I usually don't. I usually HATE getting achievements.

My Stream My Mental Breakdown is an indie game developed by Ultaan Games. My Stream My Mental Breakdown is a visual novel that incorporates a money system and a deck-building system. You play as a Panda named Pochi who tries to make it in the world of live streaming, you have 3 lives to do this in and the deck building element is quite simple to use however the game is rather herd to beat, you also need to pay your own rent buy your own food and sometimes need to work as well all while trying to stream and become partnered. My Stream My Mental Breakdown appalled me because I have been a live streamer before. I found the game interesting and engaging, however, this is not a game I would put in my top ten list of visual novels, as the story is not that engaging, and I did get bored of the repetitiveness of the things I had to do within the game. If you were or are a live streamer or content creator, then yes, by all means, give this game a try however, I don’t think its worth the regular price point on Steam. However, if you can bag it in a sale like I did, then its worth the money. I did not receive any compensation to write this review. This was my first time playing a deck builder game. But as a streamer, I thought "I gotta check this out". The game did hit on MANY comments/points/facts people deal with as a streamer. I struggled a bit at times (maybe cause I'm old, maybe cause first deck builder game) at catching on to the best route to play things. BUT I still enjoyed gaining followers and the story that came along with it. For me, the price point seems a bit high but perhaps if you are a fan of deck building games - its acceptable. Get it on sale (10 dollars or less) but it's good for about a day's worth of entertainment.
