About

Warman is a pure hack-and-slash game, focusing not on lore and stories, but what action-adventure RPGs do best: Combat, stats, and loot. There's no moral dilemmas here, no unearthing ancient secrets that threaten reality, or princesses to save.
Instead, there's plenty of action, endless possibilities of developing your character through a freeform class system and random item generation, and, of course, monsters to explore and dungeons to defeat!

No Story, No Worry - You don't fight because you were called to war, there's no nation to save or kittens to rescue. You fight because you want to.
Adventure Alone or in Groups - Adventure together, with up to eight players at once. Warman can be Warmen (or Warwomen).
Freeform Class System - Archer, Warrior, Bandit, Fire Mage, Wind Mage. Each class has unique skills and passive ability tree. Want to switch? Go from burning monsters to cutting them up just by swapping weapons.
Endless Loot - Every item can drop with modifiers, letting you grow your character. There's always room for further growth. Don't like an item? Go visit the Blacksmith and reforge it!
Mayhem for Fun and Relaxation - Want to be overpowered? You can be overpowered, if you're clever enough. Sky's the limit when it comes to stacking modifiers and reaching ludicrous power levels.
Travel the World, See the Dungeons - 17 interconnected maps across 3 biomes await, each offering unique challenges, monsters, and a mix of handcrafted and procedurally-generated dungeons for the ambitious adventurer!
Death is a Slap on the Wrist - Death happens. Pick yourself up, brush off the blood, then go back into the fight, because you don't lose your gear if someone manages to smear you on the dungeon walls.

This game has some interesting ideas, but the enemy level scaling and the poorly designed randomization really kill the experience. Having 3 enemy spawners spawn next to each other (this happened A LOT) was hellish. Because the enemies scaled so quickly (and every area had the same enemy levels?) leveling up felt more like a punishment than a reward. I think the foundation of a good/interesting game is here, but it just needed a bit more work/polish to allow it to reach its full potential.
Warman is a... really hard to describe apart from my favourite go-to.. "Garbage". This is a really badly made 3D rendered 2D top down/ISO brawler with lightweight RPG elements and some inventory management. This is so bad I had to spend a little extra time trying to find out if this was an Android game or made for iPhones instead, but it turns out the quality was too low for it to be accepted on those platforms. It's clunky, it's got bad graphics, the gameplay is nonsensical, it's bug riddled (and frankly, I only have so much time in the day to stand in front of signs wondering why "Press E to Read" just doesn't work because the developer never bothered to test that). Despite not being in Steam Early Access (where this arguably belongs), the game is missing features and is apparently incomplete. Due to the lack of meaningful progress from the developer, it's unlikely the game will be completed at all, yet the developers reprehensively have their hand out for money for an incomplete game. This is a good reason for gamers to avoid this. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. Another defect in the game caused by the console-peasant-centric design is the intolerably bad camera controls. There's no effective mouselook, and control of the viewing angles is deliberately outside of reasonable control from the user. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but it doesn't seem to have made it to the app stores. It's unclear why this was put on Steam instead of the app stores it seems to have been designed for. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes Warman might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The game never really caught on with the millions of gamers on Steam, with a very low peak player count close to launch, and then just a handful of players launching this game every couple of days. This is undoubtedly caused by factors such as those raised in this review. It's always helpful with buying decisions to consider how popular and successful the product is, and unfortunately while this did accumulate a few participation trophy reviews, overall, people just aren't using it. Warman has the comically over-optimistic price of $20 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. For comparison, the $20 asking price for this game could get you games like "Lethal Company", "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" or "Cities: Skylines". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this. There's also thousands of free, superior quality games on Steam.
A budget loot ARPG. Graphics are a little too cutesy. Mobs are a little too samey. (I've killed literally nothing but bees/beehives and I'm almost 1 hour in.) Classes, loot, skills, and skilltree are all pretty decent. Combat isn't bad but something about walking around and fighting felt a little more tedious than I'd like. Probably due to the lack of variety of mobs and terrain art. I probably won't play this too much longer but I don't think of it as bad.
At first i hated the stiff game play. After 5 minutes i started liking the nature of this rogue style action game. And after half and hour in the middle of a battle my controls stopped working and i died soon after. This was what we call, a game breaking bug. And that made up my mind for what to do with a game like this... I would give this a rating of 5 out of 10 points because of these kind of bugs in a game. If the bug wasn't present and if controls were mapped correctly the i would say a 6 out of 10 points. As is, "NOT RECOMMENDED!"
warman more like NAH man hahaAhahahahahaha ahahah
Large/Long empty rooms and a lot of them. No monster minimums for areas, making leveling more of a chore than a necessity, also turning all monsters feeling the same. Lack of monster variety. has good bones but will see how it develops. Honestly wasn't worth the time I played. I do hope it gets better
Other than the skill system this game feels like an asset flip. The graphics are on the bad side of generic and in 4 hours I found 3 enemy types and 1 boss. All of this could be slightly forgivable if the game was actually fun, but it's not. Combat is a slog, every mob take tons of hits to kill and you cannot absorb more than 2-4 hits without dying, so you're stuck in minutes-long high-pressure fights against the most unrewarding uninteresting opponents. The only decent part of the game is the skill system but even that is unenjoyable. After the first 4, skill points come in at an abysmal trickle and as far as I could tell there is no way to multiclass so once you pick a weapon you're basically stuck with it. Even free this game would not be worth playing, and the "very positive" rating is one of the shadiest I've ever seen on Steam.
