Rugby Champions

Great rugby union game. It is fun to play and challenging as well. When you score a try, it feels like you have earned it. There are no awful mini-games for set-pieces like scrums and line-outs. No mini-games for rucks either. It feels fun to play and I don't feel like I have to button mash like some other rugby titles. Unlike Rugby 22 and the Rugby Challenge series, you can actually play some kind of 'career' mode with progression for your players. You get points to spend on player development and, in some leagues, you can spend recruitment points to acquire new players. Someone on The Rugby Forum has made a brilliant set of mods for this game adding in different clubs, players, and leagues. Check out the community hub and discussions ('Rugby Champions - 2021-22 Update' thread) to find it. I have been having fun playing Premiership rugby using this mod. Rugby Champions 2 please!

the best rugby game out there. best game engine in any rugby game. not many options in terms of game modes but the gameplay is so good it never gets boring. plenty of customisation options and able to mod the game. obviously the graphics arent great and its not licensed but gameplay makes up for it massively and its so easy to customise teams and players

A very good game considering the budget these guys had.I feel that they had a much better AI than most of the bigger rugby games with bigger budgets.they executed the basic principals and rules of the game to best of their ability and really outsmarted some of the bigger game developers.Well done...Regards The Rugby Guru!!!

Copy and paste this game developers, bought and played them all but this is by far the best,great AI its editable and there is a lot of replay ability rucks make sense not a lot needed to make this a top title great effort come follow it up PLEASE

Takes about 5 hours to get used to but once you got going there is no rugby game like it. Also the AI is great ive played 50 hours and still cant play on max difficulty unlike all other rugby games

Alors oui, le jeu manque de contenu: pas de licences, pas de online, et peu de modes. Mais grâce à la communauté, vous trouverez sans problème des mods pour mettre à jour les effectifs et maillots. Par contre en terme de gameplay, vous risquez de prendre une bonne claque avant de prendre votre pied. Les contrôles ne sont pas aisés à prendre en main mais avec le temps on comprend la profondeur de jeu que cela apporte. Le graphisme est assez basique, et les animations plus simples que sur d'autres jeux plus récents, mais la physique est respectée, on sent l'influence de la vitesse et des gabarits sur les impacts. Mais surtout quel plaisir de briser la ligne avec des courses bien senties et un sens du timing indispensable. Ici pas de "set plays" mais une IA aussi simple qu'efficace. Perso j'ai l'impression d'avoir retrouvé un bon vieux Jonah Lomu de PS One. Je rêve d'un Rugby Champions 2 avec licences, multijoueur, et quelques très légères améliorations bien sûr, mais ce serait clairement le meilleur jeu de rugby de tout les temps. Ce Rugby Champions, avec son gameplay proche d'idéal, en a toute les fondations malgré son manque de contenu.
