About
Warhounds is a turn-based tactical & strategy game, inspired by XCOM and Jagged Alliance, about a mercenary squad with an old-school action movie vibe. Command an elite team of bold, stylish operators, wage a campaign in an alternate-future Africa, and decide the war’s outcome mission by mission.
Calculate lines of fire and flank angle, break cover, and seize the high ground. Every turn is decided more by your planning and tactics, less - by RNG.
Combine classes: Assault, Specialist, Sniper, Machine Gunner, and Grenadier. Pick the right gear for the job, treat and extract, and protect key operatives. Take calculated risks. High combat lethality makes every decision count.
Recruit, upgrade, purchase equipment, and handle logistics, finances, medical supplies, and downtime. Choose allied factions, build relationships, gather intel, and execute covert ops. Your choices have consequences: your decisions determine your access to missions, gear, and allies.
Deploy drones, combat scanners, smoke, and optical camo. Upgrade and improve your kit to win under any conditions.
Knock out a mission in 25-40 minutes, or settle in for a long session. Customize the challenge: go for a brutal tactical hell or a light, relaxing run.
No point-blank misses - flank + close distance = 100% hit chance.
Real ballistics, destructible cover, vertical gameplay, and cone overwatch.
Mercenaries with character and mission-focused loadouts without any busywork.
Base management, contracts, budgets, allies, and consequences for your actions.
Assemble your squad. Take the contract. Decide Africa’s future beyond 2035.

Half baked Xcom clone. Voice lines are cheesy, which is ok at first but soon get stale and annoying, especially the mission 'admin' who is entirely unbelievable/inappropriate in that role. Enemy AI is poor. Friendly AI is laughable. They put themselves in a flanked position and die. They shoot an enemy with a friendly in direct line of fire, usually 'scratching' the enemy, at best, but more often they wipe their own team. Upgrade/contract system feels half finished, uninspiring and clumsy. Maps are pretty decent for the most part, but most of the time I find that the only appropriate cover is *exactly* one square too far to engage overwatch on the enemy in the next available cover, feels intentional and is annoying AF. Watching enemies helidrop into/next to your Heli-extract (can see the shadow and rotor-wash of your Heli) is a dumb choice, better by far to have the enemy come in via ground vehicle, imo.

Releasing this two weeks before Zero company comes out was a bold move. There isn't much I can say that hadn't already been said, but here are my two cents: Graphics are not something I usually care about - like at all. I play Conquest of Elysium 5 for Christ's sake. The problem with the graphics here, is that they sort of reached too far. The models look good, but you can tell there was little funding for their movements and transitions. This wouldn't be a problem if the models weren't so detailed, but they are. Many people have pointed out that the weapon firing animations look subpar, but I'd like to add that they also lack weight. The janky half-jumps that are present in literally every animation that I saw broke the illusion of this being an actual weapon instead of just a model moving across a screen. This game likes to compare itself to Xcom, even referring to the player as the "commander.' However, having literally just gotten off of XCOM 2 to play this, I can say that the 2016 and 2012 games look and feel better. Also, soldiers for some reason didn't start off with grenades which actually increased the RNG (that might just be the first mission though.) Honestly though, the thing that really turned me off was how rough and sluggish the camera movement and soldier movements feel. My imputs feel like suggestions more than anything.
Low Quality XCOM copy + the good is new cover concepts that can allow reaction shots from cover too many bugs: - unit gets stuck on stairs and cannot move - grenades cannot be thrown even though the angle clearly works - mission get stuck in some kind of mode where no abilities work etc.
Boring
extremely frustrating game- as if programmers bigging up their tactical egos even on easy settings; I guess they thought this project was beneath them; such a wasted opportunity. save your money for better programmers; this was not fun
about half a hour inGame ... second tutorial . I can't end my round cause fking bug don't let me .. REFUND ... !!! No more Space for this kinda filthy trash anymore ! They have to learn that ! No money from me.
tl;dr: This is one for next year's summer sale, if that. There might be a good game here, heck there might even be a great game here, but it's layered under an absolutely terrible presentation and an AI with baffling logic. Animations are stiff, the voice acting is atrocious, the dialogue is poorly written/translated, the jokes/quips lazy and every single character model looks like it belongs in the early 2000s, the designs themselves in the 1990s. I get it, it was made for a Russian market, so every single female character has to look like she's had at least double-digit plastic surgeries and the men have to look like a mix of Rambo and the Red Guardian, or your standard neet to make sure every Russian teenager can insert themselves, but this is just lazy. Speaking of lazy, the setting/premise of the game has about as much thought behind it as your yearly recycled FPS game: Good guy PMC goes to Africa to save Samora Ma... I mean totally legitimate and legally destinct president that everyone loves, who certainly never comitted any war crimes! The greatest irony being there's a great story to tell there, but that's all thrown out the window within the first 45 minutes of the game. If you're wondering how I gathered all that from just 45 minutes, it's because it's painfully obvious what the game tries to set up from the first 5 minutes by having you essentially "click on a war crime" committed by the other side, if the cinematic wasn't clear enough. Whereas Jagged Alliance was very self-aware, Warhounds simply falls face-first into every single 90s trope you could imagine. As for the gameplay, the AI seems to not understand what to do half the time. In the two missions I managed to stomach before my refund, the AI managed to hit me two times despite me setting characters up to get flanked and shot deliberately to test the waters. And the two times the AI hit me weren't by flanking my very flankable characters, it was by peppering the same character four times through cover both times. To top it all off, I placed my shotgun character one tile away from an enemy around a corner and watched that enemy join in the firing squad after I ended the turn. The funny thing is I could easily forgive the terrible and quite frankly bland presentation if there was at least a decent X-Com or Jagged Alliance underneath it, but the Ai experiments I got to do during those 45 minutes told me all I needed to know: No ammount of interesting gameplay mechanics can save a game where you exploit the AI every turn without meaning to.
It's XCOM2 but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with a lot of AI slop
O jogo é bem legal e divertido e tem bastante conteúdo, vale a pena comprar.
