For those who like turn-based strategy games, the game is appealing BUT, it has more negative aspects than positive. In general terms, the first flaw (but which can even be ignored) is the fact that the thieves' campaign is too long and repetitive. Long games are interesting, when there is content that justifies it (not the case). But the game's biggest problem is the police campaign, which is all buggy. I got to the point where I couldn't play anymore: whenever I try to do any mission, my policemen disappear and I can only play with Grahm (a chief policeman, who enters the story), and the mission is always the same: to arrest 2 very weak bosses, who don't even belong to any gang. Then the game becomes practically unplayable and you can't complete the story. I could be describing other smaller bugs, but in a game with bugs so big that it doesn't allow to finish the story, I don't think it's even worth continuing to give more details... It's a shame that the game is in this state... Score of 4/10 due to the number of bugs.
Having mixing feelings about this game. It has some nice concepts, but the gameplay becomes boring really fast. Towards the end of the Police campaign, I was relieved to see the last two story missions happened back to back, so I did not have to raid another place ever again. Not recommending the game due to the repetitive aspect of the game.
The common TBT game elements:

2 action points per character can be used for movement or skill. Character position and direction also matter in tactical combat.
Have a hit chance and critical hit system for melee and gun combat.
Certain attacks or skills can apply buffs to allies and debuffs to enemies.
Different classes and different skills for each class.
There is a fast save and fast load system.

How this game differs from other TBT games:

You can play as a rising crime family to take over all other crime families in London or the police to take down everyone.
All characters have health and stamina. If characters run out of health, they die. If they run out of stamina, they are knocked out. This is kinda different than all the other TBT games I played, where they use armor (reduce damage taken on health) and luck (runs out first, then take damage to health)
Focus on melee combat. You can also use firearms, but I barely use them because of the Zone of Control and a lot of melee skills each class can use.
Introduced “Zone of Control”. It is like overwatch but for melee combat. If you place your character well (such as around a door), you can use Zone of Control to take out an enemy or reduce their stamina by half.
Some attacks can only be performed from a specific direction.
A variety of activities you can do in the criminal campaign. Each location gives a certain bonus.
Have unique indicators of Respect, Influence, Fear, and Heat for the Criminal campaign and Evidence and Safety for the Police Campaign.

The good:

The scores for the game are great. Gives you the 60s vibe. But you will get bored of it after listening to them after 5 hrs
Can either play as a criminal or police. Both storylines share some common events, but one is told from a criminal perspective and the other from a police perspective. The Police campaign is shorter and easier than the criminal campaign.
Criminal campaign is kinda similar to XCOM games. You need to take over properties on the map and ensure enough income to pay your crew while safeguarding injured and fatigued crew recovery.
A variety of melee skills for each class under Criminal campaign. I had a lot of fun using those skills.

The mix:

Experience gained from a mission is not carried over to the next character level. Say you gained 300 exp from a mission at lv 1, which requires 200 exp to level up. Your character will level up to lv 2 but with 0 exp. Your character will max out easily throughout the campaign, but I still find this quite strange…
The menu UI has no direct “Continue” option to pick up where you left off. You will need to click Load to load the autosave or manual save.
No End turn for all. You have to skip a turn for each character you bring.
No way to speed up the game. Enemy turns become quite long when you play as the police (you have to wait for criminals and civilians). There are also cut scenes every time you knock out an enemy, which becomes quite annoying after 5 hrs.
Not a fan of the voice-over on the criminal campaign. It feels very dry. The police campaign is better.

The bad:

Highly repetitive. All the missions are similar to each other. Go into a store, beat up some guys, or grab some loot. You have to beat different factions to take over London, but they are all similar. It makes sense in the game setting, but the gameplay becomes less fun the longer you play.
Characters body is not loading up in some games. It will be just a floating head. Only encountered this in the criminal campaign.
Enemy can shoot through walls with no line of sight.
Even if you wiped out a crime family under the Police campaign, their mobs will still appear on the map.
Minor issues: Some grammar mistakes in the game.
Overall, Company of Crime is okay in terms of turn-based tactics. I enjoy the new mechanics and ability to play both sides, but the very repetitive gameplay to slowly advance the storyline is a big thumbs-down for me.
The game had a ton of potential but seems to have been abandoned by the devs and left to be a buggy mess. The Police campaign especially has way too many times where it gets glitched out randomly and forces you to start the whole campaign from the beginning, unless you happened to make multiple saves that you could return to and hope that you don't get locked out from being able to get further in the story. I hope this game is gonna get some updates and bug fixes, but until then I cannot recommend for anyone to buy it
Enjoyed every minuet of game play. It is well worth the price. Add it to your collection you won't be sorry.
Short version: the game is way too repetitive, shallow and overall boring. Long version:

Setting/immersion. I will not lie, you don’t normally see games set in 1960 London. However, I am pretty sure that 95% of all of the violent crimes in that time period were NOT committed by women and racial minorities. The fact that there are like 2 voice actors per gender makes this game even less believable and more repetitive. The story isn’t interesting, it is extremely generic and the ending feels like the writer just gave up. Plot missions are almost identical to repeatable grindy ones, so nothing interesting here.
Empire building. It simply doesn’t exist. The map with all the pubs, shops and other points of interest? It is just a mission selection menu. Yes, you get some rewards for finishing a capture mission, but it is as far as it goes. You don’t hire people to work for you (apart from your combat team), you don’t manage anything, all the “empire building” is just building 2 different meters in each region and playing a capture mission. Having an “empire” in the end and just starting a campaign doesn’t even change the gameplay, you will still do the same stuff with the same weapons, the same enemies and the same characters. Oh, but you will have to waste a lot of time on that screen because even when you select a mission it will have a preparation timer, so most of your management is just hitting fast forward and waiting.
Combat. First problem with combat: you can’t use half of the weapons, because 95% of missions will have a “don’t kill anyone” rule. Yes, in a game where you are a criminal you can’t kill other criminals. So ranged combat is out of the picture, part of melee weapons that do health damage - too. So you are only left with 2 types of weapons that are used in the exact same manner and with 4 character classes that are too used in the same exact manner - even ranged characters are fighting in melee as you are not using guns. And considering how low is the choice of skills and tactics to begin with - the combat goes stale in an hour, while the game will take you around 40 to complete. Second problem - maps. Yes, I understand that those are realistic, but when you are having 8th fight in the same pub in a row (as you are first building reputation, kicking out the previous gang and only after that you are able to capture the building) - it WILL bore you to death. Even when you finally get your pub and move to the next location - if it has a pub it will be 80% similar or just a reused one from a location before that. Third problem just amplifies the second one - every mission is the same. They may be called differently but you just need to beat everyone up or cuff everyone in a police campaign.
Horrible animations. I would be fine with those if I wasn’t forced to watch every single KO in an “epic slowmo”. Even worse - there are a lot of visual bugs, from hair suddenly becoming vertical to entire body parts becoming invisible. And yes, I have fought both floating heads and completely invisible cops.
Once again: the game is a huge waste of time that only has very repetitive and shallow content to offer. Avoid even on a sale.
What begins as a snappy turn based beat-em-up turns into a downright silly mess of bugs and glitches. You play as a group of gangsters (Either freelancers or cops) and perform a series of annoyingly rigid missions where you run in, beat the ever loving tar out of everybody, then run away. The Freelancer campaign is just... boring. You generate your own gang comprised of four classes and work your way from right to left through the map of london. Every single action builds heat, which leads to people calling the cops with their 60's cellphones. After awhile you notice that beating people up seems to randomly make the cops appear, until you realize there's a non-explained bar at the top that controls it rather than any of your actual behavior. Should your campaign heat get too high, the police gang throw you in prison and you lose. I didn't play the Cop campaign yet but it's described as "more linear", which is always scary for an already purely linear game. I would assume the big different is the lack of any downtime or prep between missions where the Freelancers can sorta bide their time and build an empire. The big mechanic in this game is that characters have both lethal and nonlethal HP in terms of Health/Stamina, blue damage good, red damage bad. Killing anybody is a fail in most missions, and it also greatly speeds up the arrive of police gangsters (who will thankfully attack all other gangs equally), but the AI will happily shoot anybody and everybody because they don't have any consequences. The general theme is that they almost made a really awesome immersive sim style RPG but they could not figure out a good way to make a game out of it. It's buggy, the police skins don't always show, and there's been a few cases of characters intercepting from out of line of sight. I got this for a penny from a key bundle and I paid too much

Fun game, different. Good style and music. Sadly gameplay in longer gameplay gets boring and difficulty rises suddenly.
