About
Warhounds is a turn-based tactical & strategy game, inspired by XCOM and Jagged Alliance, about a mercenary squad with an old-school action movie vibe. Command an elite team of bold, stylish operators, wage a campaign in an alternate-future Africa, and decide the war’s outcome mission by mission.
Calculate lines of fire and flank angle, break cover, and seize the high ground. Every turn is decided more by your planning and tactics, less - by RNG.
Combine classes: Assault, Specialist, Sniper, Machine Gunner, and Grenadier. Pick the right gear for the job, treat and extract, and protect key operatives. Take calculated risks. High combat lethality makes every decision count.
Recruit, upgrade, purchase equipment, and handle logistics, finances, medical supplies, and downtime. Choose allied factions, build relationships, gather intel, and execute covert ops. Your choices have consequences: your decisions determine your access to missions, gear, and allies.
Deploy drones, combat scanners, smoke, and optical camo. Upgrade and improve your kit to win under any conditions.
Knock out a mission in 25-40 minutes, or settle in for a long session. Customize the challenge: go for a brutal tactical hell or a light, relaxing run.
No point-blank misses - flank + close distance = 100% hit chance.
Real ballistics, destructible cover, vertical gameplay, and cone overwatch.
Mercenaries with character and mission-focused loadouts without any busywork.
Base management, contracts, budgets, allies, and consequences for your actions.
Assemble your squad. Take the contract. Decide Africa’s future beyond 2035.

Came in with high hopes and honestly loved the first missions then the bs began. The game picks and chooses when to show you what your enemy does on their moves leaving you blind and then the game easily softlocks which I know you can load a different save but it begins to get annoying. Also on certain missions like the cluttered boat ones it is too hard to manuver the camera to where it just becomes a nuisance
I REALLY want this game to succeed. That's probably why I'm being less critical of it than I normally would. Devs, just give us more polish and more content
The basics of this type of game are there, but the game itself isn't there yet. The big marketing point is that there is no percentages only ballistics, but that isn't accurate. It's the exact same thing as X-Com. Stealth isn't an option, and the enemy will always have the advantage when you come into contact with them. You can be sniped from off screen. The game is just extremely unbalanced. Adding some more QoL options, more guns with attachments to help out would really make this game stand out, but it's just not there yet.
This game is basically if you take XCOM, Jagged Alliance 3, and a 12 year old who thinks the females need tight clothes and fat a$$es. It's enjoyable for the first 2 hours, but now I can't get my money back.
