About
Warhounds is a turn-based tactical & strategy game, inspired by XCOM and Jagged Alliance, about a mercenary squad with an old-school action movie vibe. Command an elite team of bold, stylish operators, wage a campaign in an alternate-future Africa, and decide the war’s outcome mission by mission.
Calculate lines of fire and flank angle, break cover, and seize the high ground. Every turn is decided more by your planning and tactics, less - by RNG.
Combine classes: Assault, Specialist, Sniper, Machine Gunner, and Grenadier. Pick the right gear for the job, treat and extract, and protect key operatives. Take calculated risks. High combat lethality makes every decision count.
Recruit, upgrade, purchase equipment, and handle logistics, finances, medical supplies, and downtime. Choose allied factions, build relationships, gather intel, and execute covert ops. Your choices have consequences: your decisions determine your access to missions, gear, and allies.
Deploy drones, combat scanners, smoke, and optical camo. Upgrade and improve your kit to win under any conditions.
Knock out a mission in 25-40 minutes, or settle in for a long session. Customize the challenge: go for a brutal tactical hell or a light, relaxing run.
No point-blank misses - flank + close distance = 100% hit chance.
Real ballistics, destructible cover, vertical gameplay, and cone overwatch.
Mercenaries with character and mission-focused loadouts without any busywork.
Base management, contracts, budgets, allies, and consequences for your actions.
Assemble your squad. Take the contract. Decide Africa’s future beyond 2035.

Reviews
I've been itching for a Modern Combat themed X-Com game. There actually isn't anything like it on the market. I was hoping for this game to scratch that itch. In some ways it kind of does. After playing the demo, the game had great potential. In it's current release state I cannot recommend it. Game plot is based on running a PMC, fighting in war torn Africa. First off, the game is full of AI slop. Haven't gotten far enough into the plot line yet, but it also feels entirely written and voiced over by AI. I'm not convinced there hasn't been any AI used in the development of this game. The Control and Camera scheme is cumbersome. Game is quite janky and the actions/outcomes are quite inconsistent. Enemy outnumbers and overwhelms you and your team almost immediately. Game balance is completely off and the game needs a hell of a lot of polish. I would recommend you wait till Star Wars Zero Company or get the same on sale.

THANK YOU WHITE MAN
Nice game! Hope to see more character mods in the future.
Un vrai bijou, ce jeu !
¡Una verdadera joya, este juego!
Gameplay is fun, but constant crashes and the occasional softlock right now. Recommend waiting for stability patches first.
Decent game but can't give it a high rating because of all the crashes when launching missions. Have been playing it for several hours and have already had over 5 crashes.
There’s a weird charm to this game. It looks a little rough, it plays a little rough, and every now and then something happens that makes you go “well... okay then” but I never felt bored.
For fans of Jagged Aliance a Must. there some Stuff Missing but in general a good game
I've enjoyed turn based strategy games for decades. Cut my teeth on the original 90s X-Com. Bought this in EA and didn't play until release. I'm 8 hours and change in, and I'm not having fun. There's a difficulty spike I didn't much enjoy, and even the next few missions after that aren't enjoyable. It's a shame, but I'll be uninstalling this shortly.
