Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks

For a game based pretty much entirely on multiplayer it is terrible about getting a player into a game. The interface is replete with such basic problems like lack of readability and no way to organise the server list, and consistently lags on attempting to join games so that you don't know if it's working or broken again. It frequently just won't refresh the server list, and glitches out during games to desynchronise so hard when having used certain abilities on certain vehicles to make it literally unplayable and require forcing shut down to get out of the game. On that note it's also just quicker to alt-F4 out of the game at the end of a round than wait to see if the host has dropped and if the game is actually going to cycle to a new host that sticks around. The gameplay when accessible is fun but very quickly repetitive and the different vehicles added little to it, the unlocks being largely a very, very long grind of awkward to apply cosmetics that is set up in the style of a battlepass rather than a more accessible method that lets players pick and choose what they want to work towards unlocking. For a game that's been out for nearly 2 years, this is really has the feel of a game still very much in early beta testing. Bah! Mediocre!

extremely chaotic and fun gameplay only concern is how much time untill we can no longer get into public matches easily still 100% do reccomend picking this absolute gem and enjoy it while it lasts

Honestly a very fun game, super great driving and combat. Vehicles are designed very well. Most glaring issue is the lack of a playerbase, you will have bots in every single game you play. Its very rare to find a full open lobby. Please just add in matchmaking lol.

Absurdly fun! -if more than 10 people played.. Bots are fine, have a habit of ramming fellow teammates than enemies. Lack of game modes is disappointing as Killa Konvoy is the clear winner as Deff Rally has a losing spiral that once you fall into it it's gg. The Workshop is really interesting if players actually used it, feels hollow racing by yourself 90% of the time, someone dropping in, seeing the race is half over and leaving. Kustomization is stellar and it's a shame, as i would love to grind for the rewards as there's hundreds of mix and match combinations. However that requires playing the same players over and over again which gets stale and i can see why new players would bounce hard off the game. The fun is there, every game feels fun and tense and a pleasant blend of strategic thinking and mindless mayhem, a single player making a game saving bomb stop and tense scrambles over the bomb creates some fantastic moments and some of the most fun I've had in a vehicle combat game. I think the lack of marketing really killed this game, even as an active member of the 40k Community this one fell under my radar and it's a shame more people don't play it. If you enjoyed Mad Max from Avalanche Studios you'll love this game! Gunplay feels fantastic and crunchy, vehicles fly at mach Waaaghhh when you really get moving but the momentum can be finicky at times leading to frustrating moments as you're not sure why a slight hill will tank your speed to a standstill. Overall this game is barrels of fun, just needs more Boyz for a proper right scrap!
