Honestly, War On The Sea is a really good game. However, their are some things, like every other game; that this game needs to fix. I love ships, especially games that have WW2 and WW1 ships. War On The Sea is a great example of this. However, it has a lot of problems that need to be fixed: Right now I am dealing with 1 of my task forces at GuadalCanal. I keep running into one DE that is no where to be found and it is very frusterating to keep going into battle for 3 minutes to find nothing. It is so bad that I had multiple task forces looking for this ship, especially a task force that I renamed to Armada2. This task force consists of 3 battleships, Musashi, Kongo, and Fuso. They ahve 7 escorts. With all the radar and sonar; you would figure that the enemy ship should be picked up; but no it isn't. Anther problem is spawning. I have groups of submarines at New Hebrities waiting for American ships. I go in and deal with capital ships to prevent a lot of problems being made for me during the future of the campaign. A lot of times when my submarines are spawning now, they spawn on islands or are too close to each other. This problem needs to be fixed. You should add a system to prevent this from happening or let players put the submarine or ship back where it is supposed to be in. Anther problem is that this game is too much like real life in some ways. During WW2, the Americans launched waves after waves of planes to deal with huge enemy threats. Some of these threats were Yamato and her sister ship, Musashi. Anther huge threat would have been Kido Butai; an aircraft carrier group of the japanese consisting of, Huryu, Soryu, Kaga, and Akagi. In this game it is very frusterating to have to deal with that same thing. I know its meant to be realistic but that kind of realistic makes people just get upset. The final problem that I can think of right now is sonar and radar. Sonar is 1 of the huge problems in the game because its very bad. Even if I'm going fast. it should be able to detect a submarine right below me. Sometimes even, when I'm going slow; I'm right by the submarine but it still doesn't pick it up; and we're talking about me going like between 2-14 knots. Radar is anthe rproblem because, radar is a system that detects ships. Smoke should not interfere with radar from enemy ships. I don't remember how many times I lose contact with ships ebcause of smoke. This doesn't make sense because, smoke is something to prevent enemies from getting a good reading where to fire their shells at you. When ships release smoke you will know their position because smoke goes higher and higher making it hard to see but you still know where the ship is. It's also a problem becuase smoke shouldn't interfere with radar. EMP's and that kind of stuff should cause they turn off every electronic device near it when it goes off. I do recommend this game but a lot of these bugs need to be fixed; especially when the game is $45 please.
yeah so far i've spent like 30 hours working on my own campaign for this mod, pretty fun though *edit: 40 hours now. save me.
The biggest turd I have ever played slow as hell, no time compression, completely random
