Don't get me wrong, it's kinda a fun game, but I can't recommend it and outside of the one time I did invest in trying to play a full campaign, probably never will again. It's very...unbalanced. A lot of what other negative reviews are complaining about is basically my own gripe. The AI doesn't follow the rules that you have to, and that can be annoying in *any* game, but in a game that is so 'punishing' in the rules *you* have to follow, it gives the AI an incredibly unfair-to-play against advantage.

waste of money on early access. They abandoned the game 2 years ago.
Can't launch and land planes on tactical engagement. Bug when i accidentally target my own ship, i can't stop it from shooting, it keeps attacking my own ship. So many times the control doesn't obey your order, so it's really stupid.
Loved the premise of the game but it's clearly been abandoned and thus not remotely worth the cost. Campaigns made by modders exist but the game balance is also well off - the enemy can always hit you, you never seem to be able to hit them in engagements. If you want a good naval combat game that actually seems to be being made well, go for Sea Power : Naval Combat in the Missile Age instead.
Price
First and foremost I would advise anyone to not buy the game at full price , since in it's current state it is okay at best. Right now, I think it's kind of ridiculous to ask 34 euros for this game, although later on after lots of updating it definitely can become a 34 euro game. If you can get your hands on it during a sale though, I would recommend buying it.
Content
As of now, the base content is pretty lackluster for a game costing 34 euros. There is only one campaign, which is the Solomon Islands Campaign - yes, you can play it as both the USA and the Empire of Japan so it's technically 2 but the experience is pretty much the same. The campaign itself is pretty fun I would say, but it certainly can become a rather frustrating experience, because God forbid you send a single little task force near an island in daytime, that has an airbase on it. Then the gameplay for the next hour or so will be that the AI spams you with single squadrons of planes. You load into tactical mode, wait until the 4 Zeros arrive, strafe a ship for a small but annoying amount of damage, and IF you are lucky, maybe you'll shoot down 1 or 2, but it doesn't really matter, because after you finally wait out the 3 minute leave timer, there comes the next squadron. And this will go on over and over again until you finally escape from the range of the planes. There is also a Single Battle mode and a Custom Battle mode. In the first one you can play, well, a premade historical battle on a tactical scale. The latter is where you can let your imagination run wild and you can create your dream battles and what-if scenarios, it's a great addition and it's really fun - after you learn how to use the editor of course -, while the first one is a nice addition for sure, I don't think it weights as much as the other two modes when it comes to content. Also on this note, there are some really awesome mods that add campaigns or different units to the game, but personally I don't think that those would or should be the deciding factor when it comes to buying the game.
This is a fun and good ww2 warships game, and with mods it can get to be lot more fun.
Controls are horrible 2 out of 5 stars
Great game, really fun wish it would be updated
