Ever screamed at a destroyer to “focus the damn cruiser!” while dodging torpedoes and managing aircraft strikes? No? You will. War on the Sea is what happens when you mix realism, strategy, and just enough chaos to make you question your life choices—in the best way possible. It's got a learning curve, sure, but once you climb it, you're basically the captain of your own war movie. ✔️ Command WW2 naval fleets like a boss ✔️ Manually target enemies like a control freak (it’s glorious) ✔️ Graphics so good you’ll forgive the lack of ship damage models ❌ No detailed visual damage, but hey—just pretend the fire is everywhere If you love strategy, big guns, and shouting nautical orders at midnight, this game is for you.
There's an option to not animate the travel of projectiles. It's more immersive to me to go from muzzle flash to explosion or splash.

Unfortunately the game is abandoned, buggy and incomplete. Buy Sea Power and mess around with Cold War stuff while waiting for WWII content/mods.
terrible ui dont waste your time
I love the gameplay but the limited campaign is quite annoying.
Generally a good game but when enemies teleport through an absolutely packed air net to somehow sneak two kongos (and the rest of their fleet) next to your main formation. Unforgivable as a "strategy game."
Damn. I actually really enjoy the slow and painful movement of a slow af convoy to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ only to be molested by a random fleet 10/10
Probably THE BEST naval warfare videogame out there. Way better than War Thunder and World of Warships combined. Obviously I recommmend the use of mods to enhance your experience and gameplay, because the base game is a little "empty" in terms of ships, planes and naval theatres Nevertheless, the way it lets you customize your task forces, tactis and approaches feels very good. At first its going to be hard to get the hand of it but through practice and watching videos on Youtube will make you understand enough to dominate the seas
If it were not for the patent historical ignorance in regards to the air battles (think Tiger Moths shooting down 9 Spitfires a piece) and the worst torpedo AI I've ever had the displeasure of participating in then this would be a great game. Whichever nation you choose to be, your air force will be terrible. Carriers are useless unless they're the enemy's, only then are they balanced, organised and well placed. They spawn your supporting aircraft miles apart and unable to help but magic themselves in great positions, allowing them to destroy you piecemeal. Use manual torpedo firing, don't run into enemy aircraft and hope you don't spawn directly in front of either an island (actual propellers on land trying to push back into the sea again or a panicked shift away from beaching your fleets) or the perfect torpedo path of an enemy sub & you'll be fine.
The game seemed promising at first after going through the tutorials and the single missions looked and played well. The game is let down by the AI in the campaigns and the game has a poorly designed UI. I was hoping for a few ship on ship battles but most of the time all I get is unstoppable enemy aircraft coming out of nowhere, getting past my fighters and scoring direct hits on my capital ships (even on the easiest levels). My aircraft, scouts included, detect almost nothing. Frustrating more than fun.
