Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
This game is very different than vast majority of VR games out there. This is a punishing game and it's survival in its purest form. No, you don't need to eat food or drink water or make build crap ... you have to look for stuff and survive the zombie horde with the limited supplies you have as the night comes soon. I imagine if there ever was a zombie apocalypse, you'd feel like you do in this game (minus all the cool weapons just lying there for the taking). You feel hopeless and just see all the zombies out there and think there's no way you can survive the day, much less the night. I tried so many times to survive that first night but had no idea how to do it.
I finally found the gas canister and the tanker to fill it after several deaths.
Just when I was feeling good about having survived that first day (and getting a plethora of free supplies for having done so), I come across these zombie ghost things that materialize out of nowhere and throw magical balls at you that hurt you badly. This is on top of all the other zombies just walking around. Your electric fence is not enough to kill them. You do have to survive that first night to get a saved slot. So be prepared to start out all over from scratch your first few playthroughs. This game isn't for everyone, but if you love a challenge and are prepared to shoot your bow & arrow in the pitch black of night, then this game is for you. I don't like that getting headshots only kills the weak zombies in 1 shot, while it takes several headshots to kill the stronger ones, especially when there's so many. You need some real firepower at various points that the bow & arrow doesn't provide. I saw several different types of zombies with different attacks so there is variety there. I played the game with full locomotion and smooth turning. I did not experience any issues other than the load times taking very long, especially at the start. There isn't much of a story, but you do have a voice narrator that sounds like the guy from Postal just saying random stuff, some if useful but most of it isn't. I had fun, but also it was frustrating to lose all your progress upon death ... better survive the night. Rate 7/10. For the price, I think it's a very good deal.
Durchaus spaßiger Zombie-Shooter. Man ist in einer offenen Welt unterwegs und muss Aufgaben erfüllen, dabei wird man von Zombies gejagt. Gute Atmosphäre und der Preis von 10€ ist in Ordnung. i really didnt want to leave a negative review of this game but here we go SO back in 2018 this game was good i played it a lot with my friends fighting endless waves of zombies with random guns that you would get randomly depending on how many zombies you would kill and it was actually fun and i enjoyed it back then. the game was like a arcade zombie game but now from 2021 to now its just a bad story driven game that took away what was fun with the game i dont even know if it has the arcade mode anymore its just story were you have to find weapons now and try to survive with what you got turning it in to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ survival game it was way better as the arcade zombie shooter it was back in 2018 i would still play this game if they didnt change what was good about it R.I.P VRZ you were good at one point maybe one day ill play it again for nostalgia
I got a really bad first impression from this game. I started by opening up the shooting range. Found the weapons mostly easy to use, except grenades are extremely hard to aim and the bow doesn't seem to fire reliably. Then I wandered around for a bit until I fell into a pond. The sides of the pond were too steep for me to climb out, and so I drowned.... in the shooting range. And THEN I found that this game doesn't let you exit to the menu if you die. You have to exit the whole game. OK? I went and read the user manual, to see if I had misunderstood the controls. In order to find any instructions, you have to quit the game and open the user manual online. That feels like an antiquated design in the modern age of gaming, even more so when you're in VR and getting into and out of your equipment takes more time. In any case, the controls weren't the issue. I started up the game proper. Went to the safehouse first, found a shotgun (which I took) and a bow (which I left because I didn't think I'd be able to use it properly). Went out to look for gasoline and a tank to hold it in. I found the gas station first, along with a crowbar and a baseball bat, but I needed a jerry can to actually collect gas. By this point I'm already getting annoyed with the game's lack of direction. I went to the store besides the safehouse and the narrator told me there was a gas can in there, along with a bunch of zombies. The shotgun made short work of the zombies, but soon ran out of ammo, and this is where things went off the rails. More and more zombies kept spawning, I don't know from where, and the melee weapons didn't seem to work. It was like there was a hitbox on the end of the bat, and if that hitbox didn't hit a zombie's head, no damage would be dealt. So I was backwards-running in circles around a vehicle parked in front of the store. I saw a minigun mounted on the vehicle, but this game doesn't have a jump button do I couldn't figure out how to reach it. More zombies were appearing, faster than I could kill them with the unreliable bat. Until finally a kamikaze zombie ran up and blew me up because I had no way of fending it off. And once again, I had to quit the game because there was no way to go back to the menu All this on the first day, on normal difficulty. And I'm usually pretty good at VR shooters and survival games. Incidentally, there is also no way to save the game, except at daily checkpoints. Maybe this would get better if I stuck with it, but this is all just such a mess. I don't really *want* to keep trying, not when I have more user friendly games I could be playing.
I tried really hard to like it, but its extremely unfinished. You can cheese break the game with point and click locomotion joypad locomotion doesn't work correct as N S E W directions are locked. So if you're facing the wrong direction and you press down, you always go South. I wish I bought it on steam, so I can at least refund it. I personally wouldn't support development for it.
1/10 Very poor. No tutorial, so spent a long time waandering around in circles figuring out what to do. As far as I understand it the objective is to release an endless horde of zombies from a barn and then shoot them until you have no amunition left. Then die. If there was something better I could do with this game, it wasn't explained to me. The controls are nonsense. you have to tap a button to the game that you want to move in the direction of your controller, so if you shoot a zombie, turn around and press forward, instead of moving forwards, you moe backwards into the zombie. The voice actor sounds like a wooden model of Duke Nukem, but without th charisma. You can choose manual reload, but there is no way to reload manually. None of your buttons do it, and whilst there is a ammo clip hovering in front of your face, you can't do anything with it. If there is a way of doing (or changing) these things, it wasn't explained to me. Avoid.
after fixing wmr controllers to use joysticks it makes a whole difference playing game. Worth checking out if u are a zombie apoc. fan
Nvm really fun game probably one of my favotrites over killing floor 2, has alot of weapons and would be more dope with some killing animations and new map like nazi zombies
This is one of my favorite VR games right now. And thank you customer service. I had a problem and they fixed it almost immediately.
