You will love this game if you like spore, the campaign is mediocre but the creature evolution is where the game shines
Remember those games in the early 2000-as that were always a bit chunky, always a bit rough around the edges but were made with love and playing them was a lot of fun? This game brings back that feeling again. Also it is creature collecting/breeding done right, which is always a blast. Worth the full price and it is a steal on sale in my opinion.
Its a solid game and worth the price. Voidling Bound scratches that itch between Risk of Rain 2 and the aspect of breeding Pokemon into the strongest variation of themselves especially with a certain feature to maximize stats later in the game. The story is nice and short but it has great replay value. Highly recommend for those looking into creature collecting with a hint of bullet-hell or roguelike aspects!
Das Spiel crasht immer wieder, 90% der Zeit wenn ich das Spiel starten möchte crasht es, kein Crashreport, nichts dergleichen.
ive played for 15h and i beat it w jurney and w game
This is a very enjoyable fresh take on the monster taming genre. I like how you can evolve each creature type up branching paths to give them all a lot of variety & how splicing works to let you pick and choose to create your ideal monster. My largest gripe is that the difficulty seems a bit easy even on Wrangler difficulty or I over levelled using breeding too early in the story. It might be better to lock certain ship upgrades behind story progression instead of wrangler level since you can get that pretty high by replying early missions while breading, then crush the rest of the missions. I love the Abyss as an endgame that keeps you busy while you work on uncovering the remaining mutations & perfecting creatures.
Voidling Bound is a truly wonderful creature evolution game. The pacing in both early and late game feels good, the creatures and unique and interesting, and the end-game customization feels outstanding. I don't have enough praise for this game! I love it! Every creature seems like a viable playstyle, and they are different enough that they don't feel like reskins of each other. The upgrade paths are very worthwhile, and being able to mix all the unique perks during splicing is very fun! If you have a itch for creature evolution, and want a vibrant and alien setting to play in, Voidling Bound is a strong contender in this genre. I've gotten all evolutions, unlocked all upgrades, and maybe a few end-game worthy voidlings. (Took me ~20 hours) I'm very happy with the time I put into the game, and think its worth every penny for a game this cute and interesting! It would be cool to see something like this in multiplayer one day, but other than that, I have no complaints with this game.
Played through the demo, was hooked, bought it on day 1, then proceeded to 100% it. It’s really good! The concept behind this game is a unique hybrid of various other types of games. It’s like if Helldivers 2, Pokémon, Spore, and Skylanders had a baby. Like Helldivers 2, it’s a 3rd person extraction shooter. Like Pokémon, you collect, hatch, and evolve monsters of different species. Like Spore, you can customize your own creatures with different parts that give it different abilities and stats. Like Skylanders, you get to play as these creatures like you would a Skylanders figure, each having their own unique play style. These aspects form a gameplay loop that is very addicting for most of the game, but towards the endgame when you’re playing the endless mode and grinding for all the evolutions, there aren’t enough incentives to vary your playstyle when playing the endgame endless mode, leading to it just feeling like a chore. For example, even though the breeding system is very flushed out and one of the most intuitive breeding systems I’ve ever experienced in a monster-collecting game, you get far more precious resources far more quickly by breeding and releasing Voidlings, rather than playing the endless mode or repeating missions. This creates an imbalance in the resource economy that disincentives the player to actually participate in the main gameplay loop. Once I figured this out, it was hard for me to stay engaged as my main goal was to get all the mutated perks to create awesome customized Voidlings. Another example is that if you play as a Voidling of any other element besides Plasma, you’re essentially handicapping yourself in the endless mode. Creating and experimenting with Voidlings of other elements would be so fun, but the structure of the endless mode just disincentives that. I think these things suck, however, I think this is a fundamental game design problem that I don’t believe is easy to fix without ruining the game in some other way. The core gameplay loop that is presented is really amazing for all of the other mission types. One thing I think the devs could do to really polish up the game is add voice acting. It badly needs it to give the characters more character and make the narrative more engaging. Despite my criticisms, I’m a huge fan of what the game is offering, it’s just not the best it can be at the moment. 100% Achievement Completion Perspective: You can get all achievements without following a guide, but it would be very frustrating to find the hidden collectibles without it. For achievement hunters coming from other monster-collecting games, you will not need to collect all evolutions to 100% this game. I still did that for fun, but it not being required makes this game much easier to 100%. I had a lot of fun 100%ing this game.
its a reaaly good game!
Solid game, a must for everyone who is nostalgic with the Skylanders games. The Gamplay feels great and only the Playtime of about 10 hours is somewhat short allthougt there is some late game content.
