great game
I liked the game because it is fun. It was exactly what I was thinking it was.
Fun game but beware of crashing issues.
Lets you pick 'Male' & 'Female', not just 'body type 1' & 'body type 2'.
An enjoyable game and certainly a very good foundation to flesh out some of the mechanics the game has to offer. Progression in this game is very generous and so you will fly up the ranks as you play. Combat is nicely done and there's a little bit of skill required to fight effectively without going pop pop in a battle. Mining is done well but the manufacturing side of things feels more like a placeholder for a more complex gaming mechanic. Although you can offer to repair starbases and upgrade their turrets, if feel there's an opportunity missed here to create a more fluid space game where you can setup stations and defences in other territories etc. Also there is no push back from the enemy NPC factions. A bounty system would have been a nice addition to the game so that different factions can mark you for termination etc. The main story is competently done and took me roughly 25 hrs to complete but could have been done quicker if i focussed more. Definitely an above average game and hope there is more content to follow.
Fun game so far, nice visuals and nice soundtrack Got it in some bundle a couple years ago and only started to play it now I can see the gameplay getting repetitive after a while but it hasn't happened to me so far Price in my local currency is a little salty for a 11 year old game, but the 4 pack is adequately priced Reading comments, I get the feeling that this was intended to be a multiplayer game with player economy being the backbone of the interactions, sort of likle minecraft servers are today, but it didn't take off as much as the devs hoped
Reminiscent of Cosmic Rift from 2001, VoidExpanse is a fun, arcadey space romp with shootin', mining, trading, a skill system and a bunch of ship upgrades. It's got a few story paths, but nothing too deep; don't expect a full-fledged RPG. There's a lot of trekking across space, it's quite a chill experience with a few moments of panic when attacked by multiple pirates and aliens. I have no idea where I got this game, might have been as part of a charity thing (JingleJam maybe?) and I didn't play it for years. I started barely more than a week ago and have sunk nearly 23 hours in, completed it, and I really enjoyed the experience. Would I feel so happy if I had paid full price? Probably not, but on sale it's well worth getting, especially if you enjoy old school space shooters. p.s. I hear it has a good modding scene, that's something I'll have to check out next.
