Super
its a nice looking game but the final is frustrating to the point I'd be better off quiting than try to complete something that forces you into a mechanic that doesnt even work half the time. AND, the mehcanic is mostly useless the entire game. ♥♥♥♥ this.
lowkey like ultrakill if it was a bad game
Has no reason to be a rouge like, as a hardcore difficulty sure, but that fact it is perm death by default is only a mechanic added for the sake of increasing play time and adding "difficulty". It doesn't have enough content variety to justifiably be considered a rouge like. Its a really great game, as a souls like fps but not a rouge like, perm death game. If it wasn't for the stupid unjustifiable perm death "rouge like" mechanic it would be a great game. But it gets in the way of me enjoying it enough to play the game. Dying 20+ minutes in just to have to go through 15+ minutes of easy enemies to get the the hard part I died is not fun, nor does it add any difficulty. It feels like a insult to my time. Such a shame, it is quite fun.
Maybe I'm just bad but this game just feels unbalanced. Boss fights feel like I barely have a chance to attack and can rarely get space away from the boss to attack; I'm endlessly dodging 90% of the time. Enemies are fine, but they can blend into the background. There's, at the point I got to, no real build variety so I can't find something that works for me. And lastly its just not fun. when I die ( which is normally to a boss) i don't feel like I messed up, its just oh one of the endless attacks finally hit me and its over. There has to be a balance, which this game doesn't have.
Have played several other games like this, the art style, combat, and soundtrack are great. Fast and action packed. Better than others I have tried. Freedom of movement to dip, duck, and dodge as needed. With that being said, I never use mouse smoothing, but a game like this could benefit some people out of some of the first things I noticed after adjusting settings for making fast and/or more concentrated flicks on enemies more or less. There is Modifiers every room or every other to make you stronger and survive longer as well as a shop as you go. There is a lobby in which you can upgrade stuff in between your runs. Overall great so far and the gameplay is actually showcased in the trailers which most are scared to do today. Will be buying The next up and coming game by the developer. Worth the money, though it can be repetitive to some.
buying the trio of super fast roguelike FPS games in early access was probably the worst investment I made during my search for retro FPS games back in 2023. I am not looking forward to playing the other two in the bundle after my experience with this mess.
I really liked the game, it gave such a vibe that i really like but it has it's flaws i think. First, the player feedback, it feels like i can't control most of the things like how can i dodge this or how can i take advantage of this etc. Sound effects feel weak feedback wise. My player doesn't do the things i want to do and everything seems like happening on chance. Player doesn't blame themselves when they die, they blame the game and i think thats the keypoint that why i feel bad about the game. Anything else is just gorgeus. Keeping an eye on your next projects.
I played this game in its demo and, while I thought it needed some work, it seemed like it could be a good game. I should preface by saying that this isn't a bad game, but I wouldn't go as far as to call it good either. Any build you can make gets pretty repetitive after one playthrough, and it makes each replay feel very samey. Every boss leading up to the final boss is, frankly, piss easy. So long as you have a semblance of an idea on how to make an effective build, you'll steamroll every boss save for the final boss. The final boss feels like it was made for a game with ULTRAKILL-like movement as opposed to the movement this game has. Movement is pretty sluggish and most of your mobility just comes in some variation of a dash. I really love the art direction when it comes to the environments, but I feel like the enemy and weapon design is often lacking. The upgrades you can get after each run seem inconsequential and frankly unnecessary. I've also noticed in a few areas that there seems to be clipping issues in certain parts of the map. Specifically, while in the sacred grove, I got clipped into a pillar. Anytime I would try to get out, I would instantly fall into acid and then be teleported back inside the pillar until I eventually died. Overall I'm pretty disappointed with how this game turned out. However, it could be a good game to play for an hour if you're bored.
