About
You are playing as cybernetically enhanced, armed-to-the-teeth animals inside a top-down, bullet-hell world trying to save your soul.
In Void Strife, there are varied bosses which can mess up your run in a lot of ways. The Brainiac, the biggest and baddest of all may have some surprises up its... membrane?
Unlock a continuously updated cast of animals:
PUNKHORSE: More health. More mass. The most durable of all.
ARM4DILLO: FAST AS HECK. More damage the faster you go. Glass Cannon.
FISH-X: Small and manoeuvrable. Specialist in EXPLOSIONS.
Items have the potential to change how your run is played entirely
Magnum Opus: Lightning ball launcher. Lightning tendrils. See for yourself...
Neutron Expansion: chance to explode on every attack. Hook that bad boy up with FISH-X and BOOM. You just cleared the whole screen.
In Void Strife, you can also recombobulate items: this combines all of their powers and effects into one item. With this alone you can become a busted-ahh horse. Or fish. LOOK HOW MANY BULLETS!!

Clunky combat and lack of charm. Needs a lot more polish. Controls are very awkward, with you moving like you are on ice as you "slide" forward slightly after you finish moving. This makes it difficult to dodge projectiles, and you don't have the speed really to do so consistently too, which makes certain enemies extremely frustrating as dodging their attacks is the only way to kill them unless you have weapons which allow you to hurt enemies around corners. The majority of enemies are very bland too, sporting only a single attack type, with the only difference being mainly what kind of projectile they shoot. Levels lack similar variety, with the only difference being really that the rooms are coloured differently. See the potential, but this needs more time in the oven.
A fun indie game that has had a lot of heart put into it
Genuinely one of my favourite run and gun games! Takes a second to get started and a hot minute to master! With different buildpaths, bosses and the like, runs hardly feel repetitive imo! 9/10!
If that dumbass Schrödinger still knew how to read or whatever I bet he'd feel real damn stupid. The notion that state collapse only occurs after human observation is silly, is it? Other animals could work dandy too? Some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cat would? Well have you considered that Void Strife confirmed that those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ don't have souls by default? Huh? Huh? Huh? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tool. Stay away from quantum mechanical theory and get back to tutoring that 14-year-old or whatever. Wait don't actually. Stop doing that. Stop.
horsie.
void strife
can't tell if i'm not as good as i should be or if it is harder than it should be yet.... loving the first level but man boss seems a little to difficult like to high of a difficulty spike too soon, maybe if there were a few levels between each boss, kinda get the vibe and upgrade better before being thrown to a wolf often a giant helicopter or some kinda tank thing, looks like something from Super C(Contra 2)idk i still dig it sorta otherwise i got it on sale for less than a dollar so there IS that
Big bang for buck game! only played a few hours so far, 100% worth it. Got stomped by the first boss a few times till i got the hang of the game. would recommend, cant wait to finish it and eager to see whats next!
I had originally gave this game a bad recommendation because it consistently crashed after the first boss, but it has since been updated and the crashes no longer happen. I also really like the difficulty of the game but find the RNG of the levels to be a but too intense at times and the starter level varies way too greatly. The upgrades are a lot of fun and imaginative but I haven't honestly got very far into the game's progression, having only defeated a couple bosses. Replay value is high. Very grindy, though, and not sure how to unlock later characters. I'll definitely play more of this! I wish the cursor was easier to see in bright levels.
I have no void, but I must strife. If you like hotline miami style run-&-gun gameplay then you'll like this :)
