Bit of jank to the animations. UI is kind of meh.. But the game itself is pretty damn fun. I've not ranked up a lot of troops yet, so i've got a lot of powers and skills to see yet, but the loop of pirating a system; via ship to ship combat, then troop turn based combat.. is quite enjoyable. My first 1.5h in the game flew by like it was nothing. Given the low cost of the title, the lack of polish in the first few things i mentioned are beyond acceptable. The systems i've seen in play are fun and addictive, and there seems to be plenty more ahead. Game's got a definite "just one more turn" vibe going. Good buy at full asking price, even better on a sale. Glad i picked it up on a whim. Congrats on 1.0 Devs.

so far, so good. nice 90s graphic & music aesthetics. combat's fast & satisfying, tho fog of war can be a little weird... like, there's long sight lines during combat, but when searching, enemies can sometimes pop up right near your character- needs a little refinement. space combat works well, nice 3D implementation. campaign runs about 10 hrs, play is breezy but challenging. no complaints re: what's here, it just needs a little more content... could definitely use some random events, more things to do on missions/at space stations, etc.
I like it, its a more advanced FTL with a cool premise. It has good mechanics for its turnbased layer.
Very nice indie space pirate game. It’s an accessible and pleasing experience of space and ground combat. I found it entertaining enough to play it three times in order to command all the ships and get all the endings.
As a XCOM fan I'm always looking for something to scratch the itch of no new XCOM in years. This looked like it'd do just that. But, alas, it did not. The story setup is fine, nice sci-fi style story. Pirates. Aliens. Spaceships. I even liked the sell stuff you've gained from battle to pay your crew and heal them bit. But man, oh man, the combat was an instant turn-off. Sure it has the XCOM style movement, but it's an unbearable slog in the beginning. Shoot something for 1 damage, get shot for 3 damage. Oh, that alien you just injured? It regenerated. *shakes head* While I think there's probably some fun to be had later on, the balancing is borked from the beginning. Ship combat, that'll surely be better. Uh.. I move my ship near an enemy ship. I only have the option to fire at will. Alright, that sounds good. Cue a scene where my ship is shooting at absolutely nothing when there's an enemy ship right there. It's clear to me that this just isn't going to pull me in, and whatever fun sauce the game's hiding behind this beginning slog of "no fun here," I'm just never going to see.
Wow this is even better than Xcom. much smoosher. I hope the developer have not abandon this game.
