Last boss is so poorly designed that I stopped right before the credits.
seeing reviews mixed for this one had me a bit apprehensive, but i still think it's in line with the first game, even if it opts for a different format (island hopping between tales vs a more structured chapter-by-chapter tale) more about the journey than the destination unlike the first game. that said, a couple things irritated me : your 3rd permanent party member is largely useless, and the encounter rate feels ridiculously high compared to the first game. like, hard to walk 4 steps without an encounter levels of high. other than that if you played the first game you largely know what to expect - these games were made on a budget so you will see a lot of reused things. for me, that's a plus, i don't need every single game to be brand new made from the ground up so i love this kinda stuff. i fully realize though that this will be a downside for most people. i don't think this takes away anything from the presentation though, which i personally think is simple yet incredible in how it feels. you aren't getting anything new - you are getting more of what you know. i love it. mixed reviews point to the fact that people don't. if you are like me and like weird little rpgs, then this is up your alley. if you don't, this is not for you! personally loved this game and thought the story was more fun than isle dragon roars.
I can't say how much i grew to hate this game.
Other than the line repeats of the Game Master which broke the immersion. I absolutely love this game. Lots of aspect has been improved upon from the first game and they have made encounters challenging to fickle around with the stats lot of the times which was fun as well. While the main cast could come off as bland the side characters definitely stole the show
