Genre
Eine kurze Visual Novel
Story

Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
 Follow third group
and discover more reviews from me

This game traumatized me. 10/10 best game
Vivian Carmine is not a game, it's an e-book that's been dumped on Steam masquerading as a game. As a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which poses the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?". When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game. This e-book was slapped together with the godawfully bad RenPy Visual Novel/E-Book construction kit, so just like no professional writing took place here, no professional game development took place either, it's just a product of filling out templates in the construction kit. This is square in the middle of awful Ren'Py visual novel anime club dropout fanfiction stories about the developers imaginary girlfriend/waifu who travels from another dimension or something... the writing is awful, and the story itself is peak cringe. Visual novels/e-books are tedious at best... imagine the best novel you ever read, be that Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or 2001: A Space Odyssey or Twilight (if you have terrible taste in literature), but then translate that to a format where the words dribble out and you have to click your mouse every time you wanted to read the next sentence, instead of just turning the pages. You'd think it was garbage. Now imagine that experience, but with much worse writing (because if these guys could write professionally, they'd be published authors and this would be on shelves in bookstores, and they wouldn't have to pay Valve $100 to self-publish this on Steam), and you have your average Steam e-book. One of the chief problems with failed authors polluting Steam with non-game E-books is that E-books can easily just be presented in a web browser... there's no justification for charging money on Steam for what might as well be a webpage. We don't spend thousands on buying a gaming rig to spend money on Steam for something Chrome or Firefox could do. You can get better quality books and comics for free online or from public libraries, or from bookstores for a fraction of the price of this "game". Steam isn't a comic book store, neither is it Netflix, it's for games. Your gaming rig is not a Kindle. It's impossible for me to recommend things to PC gamers that aren't really games. These technical defects push this E-Book below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this E-Book is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak reader number was only 2 readers. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only reader activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality E-Book is to be expected. So, should you buy this E-Book? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Vivian Carmine is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the E-Book, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this E-Book as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the E-Book (to date). Until this status changes, this E-Book will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this E-Book.

Developer Response!
The developer has weighed in to inform everyone they didn't read the Developer Usage Rules for Steam "partners", or they deliberately ignored the part where Valve says:
Though it may be tempting, not every review needs to be responded to. A developer response will frequently draw more attention than the original statement, potentially turning a small issue into a much larger community discussion. It's also not a good idea to use this feature to refute customer opinions. Your direct attention can be seen as validation or a defensive attempt to silence your customers.
The failed author of this garbage e-book whines that his e-book carries the same defects that other e-books. Apparently if one game shares a defect with another game, or perhaps hundreds of other games, because all those games (or ebooks) have the same defects, I'm not allowed to warn gamers about them? You can see the failed authors twisted logic as he tries to justify being called out for dumping non-game garbage onto Steam. The developer also makes the utterly false claim that my review has nothing to do with his garbage E-book. I quite explicitly state just how bad the plot and writing are. It seems likely the author here never read a book review before, and it's also irrelevant because the failed author here doesn't understand how harmful it is to gamers to pollute Steam with garbage products that aren't playable games. But the author here reveals something about the e-book you can't get from reading it... Vivian Carmine isn't the main character, HE IS. What a joke. The "developer" argues that I review a lot of games, therefore this game review isn't valid or truthful. Huh. If I changed all my other reviews to positive, would this e-book suddenly become a real game with gameplay instead of garbage writing? No. Would the garbage writing at least get any better if I changed my other reviews for other products to positive? Of course not. The developer seeks any possible angle to throw shade at me personally to discredit my review. You can see what they are trying to do. If this was the only review I have ever written, would that change any of the properties of this e-book or alter the facts contained in my review? Of course not. My reviews for other games have no bearing on the dismal quality of this failed product. And remember... facts don't lie, this e-book only ever had two concurrent readers at the same time, and most people who try to read it don't even read to the end. You can see why nobody would ever publish anything from this failed author, and his breach of Valve guidelines here is simply to try attack a reviewer and customer to avoid facing the reality of his failure. Nothing in the developers pointless breach of Valve guidelines changes any of the objective facts of my review. My review stands unaltered. I cannot recommend this garbage e-book to anyone.
I played this game and honestly, its so good. I really liked the way the story line was. I was in awe of the characters, designs, plot twists. 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND!!!
Amerika'nın herhangi bir yerindeki sıradan bir kasabada bir karışıklık hissediliyor. Vivian Carmine ve rozeti Nicholas, Dünyalar Arası Boşluk'tan olayı araştırmak için geldiler.
I got on sale... It seemed like a kind of cute visual novel detective game with a nethor worlder (Oh I mean "the Gap") as the star and it maintains that pretty well right until it doesn't. It goes from a 2 to an 11 very quickly and you're kind of like "WTF" tonal shift doesn't even begin to describe it. "Theater is surprise" and yeah I was surprised. Damn. Oh just a heads up, it's very short about 50 minutes long.
This game traumatized me.
Pretty good for what it is, definitely shocking at the very least. But hey it was a nice little vn for the hour that you can spend with it.
Short VN. Easy achievements, 100% / ~10min.
