About
The visionary journey continues! Visionarium 2 The Descent is a follow up VR experience by multimedia artist and solo indie developer Sander Bos.
In Visionarium 2, you will descend into the dystopian crevices of our times. This audio-visualizer features an archetypal underworld experience, inviting the journeyer to surrender to the darkness as a way to break through and enter visionary states.
Most of the artwork is painted in Tiltbrush and other VR creation tools, trying to make the most out of VR as a new artform.
Like in the first version, the experience includes a fixed soundtrack by various musicians and the possibility to add your own music of preference.
Featuring music tracks from Treeboga, Kaminanda and Dreamstate Logic

Darker than the first one, but a great sequel nonetheless.

It feels a bit more ambitious, while also being more grounded to our reality, than the first one - tho' no custom-music. I experienced it with the mute-soundtrack option and playing my favoured tracks on an external player. V2 still kept the little speeches, which are a little 'on-the-nose' philosophically-speaking. Basic new ageisms. But they're mercifully short. We're here for the graphical psychedelic trip, and this has some fine stuff, including one funny dancefloor scene! V2 isn't quite as psychedelically far-out as the original, not just because of the more grounded 'real-life' scenes, also because the new stuff wasn't wholly original: there's the blue folk from Avatar, there's mishmash of 2001's Star-Portal and Star Trek's V'Ger corridor, plus the return of snake-like entities. Very enjoyable, mind. One scene near the end was interesting: a narrow fluidy world where it felt like we had to find a way out. The mechanics have the usual coloured-lines via button-press, and also add some red/blue colour-beams which you can shine on most objects. They're not that inspiring to use, just nice to have. I for one like these kind of trips for dancing to...a quasi-workout even. It's good stuff for those with psychonautal tastes. If there will be a V3 and there's a mood for more narrative & interactivity, I'd suggest some kind of story of a normal guy in the real world drinking a 'mushroom tea' and falling into a deep trip, with the narrative being he has to find a way out. Mechanically there might be some freedom of movement, and instead of shooting pretty lines for purely aesthetic reasons, the player could be shooting obstacles out of the way (a sort of psychedelic puzzle shooter). Lots of potential if the mood is there, the artistry and imagery of both Visionariums is pretty great. Would be cool to see it host a more interactive experience.
An amazing ride with great visuals and music! It's a great way to introduce new people into the VR experience. There is a free-flight mode available but just sitting back and enjoying the ride is just as fun!
This game does not work for me. I really liked the first one, so I bought the second and it will not work. It just glitches over and over.
I loved it! Really nice and at the end a bit scary. Need to watch the first one again as well. Keep the great job! Thank you!
Amazing experience. Worth every penny. Its short but something I would return to.
Pretty neat
Einfach fantastisch! Teil 1 war schon gut. Teil 2 rockt richtig gut.
